Thanks for reminding me of that little facet of the Collectors, too.  ME2 is pretty dark, really.

I really don't know if I'd buy ME3 without Tali, and that's not me 'protesting' or 'boycotting' or anything. Tali is just what makes the game for me and if she's not in it. . .it's not really worth anything other than a rental to me just to see one more time how my choices panned out.
Is that sad? Cause that sounds a little sad.

I seriously hope the "no ME2 save import" default game in ME3 has a live Tali in it. It's guaranteed they'll have some dead crew members for the default game, but I'd be really upset if Tali wasn't in there.

I agree completely.  I know I won't be buying it if the ME2 squad isn't back.  The battle system is nothing special, the plot is rather generic.  The universe in general was cool in ME1, but is old now.  I play for the characters.  If Bioware throws that out, I'm not interested in continuing the story.

Tali is just the character that means by far the most, but all are important.

i dunno, since they had kelly say tali likes you with pretty much no input on your part i can see them justifying making her a default LI (even though i know that the default will almost surely have no LI) so i cant see them making her dead for the default. then again IIRC wrex was dead for the default and everyone loved him.

Seriously doubt that.  It'll probably be covergirl Miri.  That way they set up an LI confrontation by default.
