I agree.  When writing any emotion, it helps me to ask myself "is this real?"  Could you see a real person acting/thinking/speaking the way you write about them?  It's not easy, and often takes MANY revisions.  

Aye, although I do recall appreciating the irony of a theater professor and a classmate in a theater writing class proclaiming that one of my short pieces didn't seem believable because "that's not how two people interested in each other talk to one another", yet they found another short piece very believable because it seemed realistic to them. Little did they know that the former piece was almost verbatim a conversation I had with a fellow undergrad student at the time whom I later ended up in a relationship with while the latter was fictitious and thought up on the spot over a half hour period.

 While on the subject of fanfics, I think I'll just plug my recently finished one, "Reunion". It's an alt version of Tali/Shepard reuniting, and getting romantically involved, after Shepard returns.

No, I've never felt any of the emotions associated with love until Tali.

Its comforting to know I can feel them, but worrying that I haven't throughout my teen years.

Heh, don't be fooled.  In my experience, professional academics are usually indistinguishable from professional douchebags.  I'm one, so I would know.  Which one, I'll let others decide.

Probably would have been nicer/more excited on Freedom's Progress.  It all came off as very business like.  Tali's stunned reaction is understandable given the whole Sheps been dead for 2 years thing, but if I was Shepard I would be very happy to see Tali.  Not sure on specifics, but something nice, and having a hug Tali interupt at all times wouldn't hurt
