Hey I tried the pills and they didn't work!
You can't just stop taking them, it takes a while to get the exact type of pill/dosage that will work for you personally. And for most, change isn't noticeable for the first 3 weeks

I'm struggling to find an image that adequately conveys the sense of rage I feel now. Why bring it up and tease us? Actually, why not point us at the "similar" piece so we can at least enjoy something that IS on display?Azint wrote...
I value something, it's called artistic integrity. The piece had a very similar idea to mine, I could not post it anymore, it has essentially been done.NuclearBuddha wrote...
So?
Edit: Wait, I found one. As bonus, it's about teasing, too.

I'm sorry, I myself have gained very little from being compassionate to others. I find it better to focus on my own goals and do what I can to achieve it. Though I will not be actively hostile by doing so, I am not trying to give that impression.The_KFD_Case wrote...

You are getting no sympathy from me. From the sound of it, you hardly did anything to get yourself out of that situation. I am a college student right now, I could not pay for tuition to continue another semester so now I have to attend a community college. It is terrible, but it's the only way I am going back to the art center I meant to go to. I am not going to let some shoddy luck stop me from doing something I want to pursue.
Do not tell me your sob story and expect me to weep for you. If you want to change your life, then go ****ing change it and stop ****ing.
I'm sure as hell not going to stop.
There is another path: Feeling some form of sympathy while still highlighting personal initiative and responsibility. The two schools of thought do not have to be mutually exclusive. Human kindness and compassion are not weaknesses IMO. Just as strength of character and perserverance can be boons in their own right.

Fair enough. Being compassionate to others is not, IMO, about necessarily gaining from it yourself. True, it may be accompanied by feelings of altruism which then raises the question whether the act was entirely altruistic yet there are those moments where one may do something for another even if it doesn't make you feel any better, even if it actually weakens one's own position a bit but is deemed survivable. Being kind and compassionate to others does not have to entail giving up on what you want to achieve - not always at any rate.
