Iconic. It's an amazingly sophisticated retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.
Unexpected. I'm somewhat intrigued. How does the animation measure up against the modern day adaptation of "Appleseed", "Appleseed Ex Machina", "Ergo Proxy", etc.?
It's done in a very realistic style along the lines of Ghost in the Shell or Innocence (same studio). None of the ones you listed is a very good comparison. Appleseed is actually pretty standard in terms of character design, and while Ergo Proxy is a little closer in the "real-looking people" department, it's still not quite there.
I would recommend it to anyone.
Well, the most realistic looking anime I've watched to date is "Final Fantasy XII Advent Children", however the plot borders on being nonsensical, although having played FF XII the game back in the day it was fairly easy to recognize all the nods to the fans.
Hm. How about "Sky Blue"?
Does "Roh Jin" look antiquated by current leading anime standards?
