That was kind of what I was trying to say: anyone is capable of anything, under the proper circumstances. I also think her mother's death is playing a role, too. I mean, depending on Shep's companion choices, she helped kill her own mother!
I'm with you on the distancing part. And I think she knows somehow that she's headed for the deep end. The way she says "I was worried you'd hate me" suggests that she's still able to compare her actions against a realistic standard. It's just that she's continuing to cling her vendettas and obsessions rather than take the hand offered to her.
Indeed, and I'm worried for her.
She's going to end up destorying herself.
She's gotten what she wants: Shepard is back and Liara dosen't know if you're 'with' someone new or not. She could have tried to win you back at any point, or pick things up where they left off.
Instead she give one quick peck on the cheek and then goes on about having to do her work. Even turns down joining up with you after you help her advenge her fallen friend.
I don't think she knows how to stop. She's becoming obsessed.
What sucks is; the more I learn about Liara's character and actions in ME2, the more I feel for her. And the worst part is, when the two LI's collide in ME3, I know I'm going to end up crushing her again.

I feel bad, but I've always liked Tali the best. I guess this makes both me and my Shepard a horrible person, but the only reason I paired them up was because I wanted him to be with somebody.
****. It's gonna get bad.
