Kinda off topic, but long time lurker here. I'm just suprised the mods havent sent this place on lockdown yet, considerng we're nearing the 4k pages mark.

They know that within five minutes we'd have a Tali 4.0 thread.

In the words of Faith No More: "We care a lot." ;)

I arrived at the correct answer in the wrong way:  I was looking for whichever target wasn't mentioned in the fragments.  Each race was mentioned, so I figured it had to be none of the above.  My bad logic resulted in good results.

It's funny because I mostly figured out that it was none of the above by the 4th node yet I didn't know how to say that. So by the time I got to the last one I didn't notice it changed the "I'm still checking" with "None of the above".

I accidently took the right one.

I honestly don't think that an event, no matter how tragic, can ever turn a person into something unless those tendencies were not already inside of them.
I think when a tragic event happens in our life, we take that time and decide (not always concisely) if we should let these parts of us out. Now, I'm not speaking ill of Liara. I do like her, just not as much as I used to. However, I think there were always these bits of her mother inside of her and the death of Shepard, the person who (could) break her out of her shell (for the reasons you listed) hardened her. I think she's becoming the copy of her mother's darker side because it's a defense mechanism to keep her at an emotional distance from the rest of the world. Losing the first love of her life right at the peak of their romance has probably devastated her in a way that many of us will hopefully never have to understand.
Rather then pick of the pieces, she became obsessive over finding Shepard and somehow resurrecting him (I'm not saying that her reasons weren't pure, but I am saying that it was a pipe-dream at best). With that done she didn't seem to have purpose anymore, so rather then return to what she knew and once enjoyed, she embraced this darker side of her, perhaps to take out her own personal misery on others.
Even when Shepard does return, she does little more than offer him a brief kiss before pushing herself away. It seems to me that she's truly bent on removing herself from the rest of the world.
Basically, I think she's acting this way simply because she doesn't want to be hurt again.

Or I could be full of it. I dunno. I only minored in Anthropology, so. . .take all that with a grain of salt.

That was kind of what I was trying to say:  anyone is capable of anything, under the proper circumstances.  I also think her mother's death is playing a role, too.  I mean, depending on Shep's companion choices, she helped kill her own mother!

I'm with you on the distancing part.  And I think she knows somehow that she's headed for the deep end.  The way she says "I was worried you'd hate me" suggests that she's still able to compare her actions against a realistic standard.  It's just that she's continuing to cling her vendettas and obsessions rather than take the hand offered to her.

THIS PAPER IS

DESTROYING MY BRAIN

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Makes ya wonder don't it = /

I have written 17 pages on the PRI party of Mexico.

I CANNOT push out three more. I have enough fluff in this paper to fill a pillow.

I used to joke that I got my college B.A. in B.S.ing.
Not far from the truth. :)

Of course you can never go back to the way things were. These are the kinds of events that shape and define a person; either they find themselves or they find themselves lacking. Liara has the strength and the gumption, of that I have no doubt. Given what the SB put her through, and what he/she/it/they nearly did to Shepard, then I have no problem with helping to eliminate him/her/it/they.

I would go so far as to suggest that, after the SB is no more, LiLi incorporates what's left of the organization into her own network, and she and Shepard turn that into the core of the anti-Reaper movement.

I am eager to see the end of Redemption, if only to know if some detail is uncovered there.

I'm with you on Liara possibly assuming the mantle of the SB.  What she does with that power is up in the air, yet.

Do you recall how that line goes?  I haven't had the heart to pick that option.  Because, well, I'd be glad to be alive.

****. Not at the moment. I'm in paper mode.

Lemme look for it

Indeed, and I'm worried for her.
She's going to end up destorying herself.
She's gotten what she wants: Shepard is back and Liara dosen't know if you're 'with' someone new or not. She could have tried to win you back at any point, or pick things up where they left off.
Instead she give one quick peck on the cheek and then goes on about having to do her work. Even turns down joining up with you after you help her advenge her fallen friend.
I don't think she knows how to stop. She's becoming obsessed.

What sucks is; the more I learn about Liara's character and actions in ME2, the more I feel for her. And the worst part is, when the two LI's collide in ME3, I know I'm going to end up crushing her again.

I feel bad, but I've always liked Tali the best. I guess this makes both me and my Shepard a horrible person, but the only reason I paired them up was because I wanted him to be with somebody.

****. It's gonna get bad. :?

The answer:  a science-related job in a field that should be fairly obvious.  Turns out it doesn't matter much what's printed on that degree.

It's been thrown around the thread for a while.  The artists e-mail address is on her neck, I think.

EDIT:  Also,  you fall in love, you lose.  Haha.

Good thing for me that I only play FemSheps, heh. None of the male LIs appeal to me enough to go through with them...and that daliance with Kelly is just off-putting.

Damn it, it's a freaking video game! It's just code and pixels and magic! I shouldn't care this much! I shouldn't feel bad, but I do! I FREAKING DO!

Damn you, BioWare! :crying:
