Call a woman Ma'am outside of a military setting and you might get slapped, or at least get the 'glare'. I know my wife doesn't like it when other people call her ma'am, she said it makes her feel old. Even though it is a sign of respect..... Other note, first time I was called sir.... hell I felt old, even though the person didn't mean it that way.

"Ma'am" is a title that historically denotes respect. I can appreciate why some women may not care for it but I consider it polite nonetheless. Being called "sir" has never bothered me then again I also do not mind aging per se. What might concern me more is where I perceive myself to be in my journey through life compared to where I envisioned myself to be at whichever age might be referenced. Also, I'm not that old from an adult perspective. From a young teenagers perspective perhaps, but ah bless them! They still have much to experience, as do I but in different stages of life.

I didn't feel old. The first time I recall being called "sir" was by hotel staff in Africa as a child growing up there. I enjoyed the title. Still do though I don't hear it often.

I was thoroughly amused when a clerk told me my son, not me, should be entitled for a student's discount only because I didn't have a beard on the 5-year-old photo.



I'm also not afraid of aging itself; the accompanying pressure from this era's effectiveness-based society is what bothers me.



Also, Paragon Shepard is practically destined to be with Tali, the entire line-up of ME2 seemed to lead to it for me. Kal'Reegar is merely a dear friend, to both of them.

I'm not wholly indifferent to your position and personally I could live with Tali being romanceable by both a male or a female Shepard. That said, if the creators of Tali originally did not intend for her to be bi-sexual then I will not support them being forced to change her just because there are those who want her to be. I find that disrespectful towards the writers, artists and creators of her providing that is genuinely how they envisioned her to be.

And on top of that, does everyone think that little of Tali that she would cheat on you that quickly after you got together?  She seems like just about the most loyal person there is.  Serious trust issues like blowing up every male friend with a Cain tend to derail relationships...

Agreed. I suspect the more jealous reactions have come from some of our younger Talimancers. I'm far from ancient by human standards but I'm old enough to be able to look back upon more youthful days and recall a similar senes of jealousy which quite likely stems more from a sense of insecurity and vulnerability than anything else. Granted, there are cases where being jealous is entirely justified, IMO, however the relationship betwen Tali and Kal does not appear to such an instance.

One look at the youtube video I found (comprising of scenes of dialogue between fem shep and Tali that were removed from the final product) would hint at something other than the creator's vision as the reason for why Tali is only romancable by male shepard. It seems to me like they had her in mind to be a LI for fem and male shep but the former option was removed, possibly for fear of controversy or time-restrictions...I dunno.

Regardless of the reason it sucks, the lines were quite genuine and I would have liked to see them implemented in the game.

Tali's relationship with Quarians in general is professionally driven and only has personal feelings to a select few the only non-Quarian being Shepard.
Still it's already heavily implied Shepard is her 'first'.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I just don't see Tali that way. Just because you like someone, doesn't mean they are into you..... Now to back up...... I don't see why Tali would automatically be into every male Shep either.  I mean it seems the only way to turn her off is to discredit her father's name, or make someone else your LI.
I am of the opinion that what you do in your house, is your business as long as 1. your not hurting anyone and 2. your not forcing your beliefs on me. So, back to the game... Tali isn't human, she is a different species. Yes she looks feminine but maybe not all the parts match? Why wouldn't she be into fem Shep? She has done all the things male Shep did, and Tali digs that..... Look, if a woman (gamer) puts $59.99 down on a game, why can't she get the same out of it that a man does? If Tali is into human women, it doesn't take away from my experience in the game.
Question guys, how would you feel if Tali was only into women and you couldn't get her as a LI in me2. I would suck for me. Your feelings?

If Tali was into chicks, I'd be okay with that, that's her character. Loyalty to the truth of a character is more important than you feeling left out. I tried to romance Ashley as a girl in ME1, only to be a bit disappointed that I couldn't. Did I go to BioWare's forums and rage about it? No. I picked up Liara and went on with my business.

There is nothing wrong with a few characters being straight. If you want Tali that badly, there's always fanfiction.
