I see
the plot opening like that, how do you stay with a limited number of
squadmembers? Separate them like the Dossiers?
DA:O had like 12 squadmembers and although I've only played once it
didn't seem to hinder the interaction and dialogue that much. Cuz that's
what it comes down to for me, the loyalty missions are out, nobody
get's the spotlight now except Shepard, what does that mean for my NPC
immersion? Are people going to have Samara AND Liara? They're
the same squadmember skill-wise, that's why I figured Bioware was
planning on sending Samara away.
I don't see a scenario like in ME2 where you have to go around and recruit a team happening again. That basically took up the entire game, and there is a lot of plot related elements that need resolved in ME3. I think the most likely scenario is one where ME3 starts right where ME2 left off, and you already have your entire team with you. I'm sure that some character related stuff will suffer, but I have faith that there will be enough stuff to keep us immersed for one more game.
I am intrigued how they handle the situations with Wrex/Grunt and Samara/Liara. Giving us a choice on who to take would seem to be the better way to go instead of making the choice for us, or overloading the team.

Why Xen?
I liked that one on Omega, I felt bad for him.
I dont know realy, she's just my favorite. (And I approve of her geth army dreams)
Thats the difference between Han'Gerrel and Daro'Xen
Besides slightly different view points
Gerrel seems like he can be reasoned with, Xen is insane

Maybe they can hedge their bets and only
focus on the romancable characters, giving them more story significance,
and cutting the workload from a development standpoint. A lot of
people would be satisfied with focusing more on a character that they
like, and thus romanced, than none at all. I do expect people to be
unhappy with the character related stuff in ME3 though.

Though to be fair, Tali was given a fair amount of thought it seems by the writers and definitely more then the other LIs.
All we can hope for is that in ME3, they will outdo themselves. Its too bad that "real world" politics and the need to be "socially / politically" right and avoid a possible "media **** storm" has seen Bioware shackled their writing. Unlike Viconia's retelling of torture and rape at the hands of humans.

Meh, they've wrote themselves into a corner. People are going to walk out of ME3 unhappy by the lack of attention their favorite character received and without a ME4 there won't be any restitution.
On a side note. The romances in BG2 are actually much more developed, it wasn't just nostalgia.
Oh definitely.
Its all in the details.
For me Viconia will *always*...*ALWAYS* be the top girl.

There was Jack's accounting of being raped in the prison. There was Shiani being raped in DA:O. There was no, save her at the last moment. It was after the fact or in the act(despite everyone being fully clothed lol)
NOt too shackled i'd say.
And I'd have to say Aribeth is my favorite game girl, but she never got more then a last moment revelation.
The expac doesn't count, it's not cannon to my story.
Viconia is a close second though.
Poor Tali might not even make 3rd on my list. I'd have to think about that for a while.

good story telling takes a back seat when being "politically correct". Its a shame ... I don't think Bioware will ever tell good enriching stories. I fear the worst for ME3..

I fully expect them to have hair. The only remote evidence we have is the females wearing headdresses as an analogue for hair.
From a logical standpoint, I also expect Bioware to make Tali attractive, and that means hair. It is easily explainable into the story, and doesn't hurt anything, so why not?
