Because people aren't thinking before they vote. Shepard is barely a character in my mind. Would vote any character in the game over Shepard.

Yes confuses me as well. Should be Paragon and Renegade specifically, Renegade is badass whereas Paragon is more like a p*ssy lol sry just love saying that

Because people aren't thinking before they vote. Shepard is barely a character in my mind. Would vote any character in the game over Shepard.

That isn't why, people like Shepard as a character because he's the answer to the question of what would happen if you could change the actions of a mediocre character.  If you always picked the middle option, and said that was Shepard, he wouldn't be very popular, but people can pick whatever option they choose for each situation, and the resulting character is their Shepard.

I agree that it isn't fair to compare someone that fluid to a set character, since technically, no one is voting for the same Shepard, but it is what it is.

Its because the Talimancers are very united.  We all vote as one in large favorite character polls, while other fans votes are spread across 10 other options.

In this scenario, all the Tali fans are already voting for Tali still, but now the fans for all other characters add in their vote, and almost all vote for Shepard. 

I don't think there's any chance of Tali losing a poll between all characters, its when the choices are focused between Tali and one other character that the combined forces can defeat the Talimancers. 

There was already a Shepard vs Tali poll a few weeks ago and Tali won easily. I'm guessing the recent wave of Tali vs anti-Tali polls turned a lot of people who didn't really have an opinion before, against her.

A major fan base shift over 2 months after the release of the game seems unlikely to me.  I think the more likely scenario is a small sample size.  There could just be less Tali fans/more Shepard fans on at the moment.  The poll hasn't even been up for an hour has it?
