Must concur. Have used many times as STG captain. Yet to fail.
But am not suggesting anything.

Their immune systems work differently than ours. It doesn't fight off viruses and such. It tries to adapt to them or form a symbiotic relationship with them. The sterile environment of the ships didn't provide anything to adapt to, so their immune systems started to degenerate. It really doesn't make a lot of sense and there is even some conflicting stuff within the canon, like Tali saying the problem is an allergic reaction instead of an immune response.BTG_01 wrote...
Question: Is the weak Quarian immune system an evolutionary trait that developed after they were exiled? Everyone seems to act like it is, but that doesn't seem possible given that they've only been on the fleet for a couple generations. I know their immune systems were'nt that great to begin with, but I don't see a reason why they shouldn't still be suited to their homeworld if they ever return. Obviously adult Quarians who've had no exposure to diseases would be at risk, but the next generation of Quarians should be fine if they grow up there, right?

There seems to be some big scientific inconsistencies with the whole situation. The quarians have always had the bad immune systems, something along the lines of they evolved it to help with pollinating plants on their homeworld or something. While the immune systems were bad, they were completely adjusted to the situations on their planet, and didn't have any complications.
Once forced off the planet, and into an alien area, they had to go to the suits all the time. I assume this would be true for all quarians going to weird places for as long as they live.
300 years however, by no stretch of the imagination should be enough to undo the complete symbiosis they had on Rannoch. It may take a little time for them to be able to completely go without complications after retaking their homeworld, but Tali's talk of 60 years and generations seems like BS to me. Its possible that quarians who've spent their whole lives sheltered from disease would take a while to readjust, but definitely any born there would retain the same traits of quarians born 300 years ago.
I'm hoping Bioware ignores the whole long rehabilitation period thing in ME3. I want to see Tali without an evironmental suit, outside walking around in ME3

see it would also support how quarians could survive also, because if their hair did the pollinating, less harmfull virus's would enter their body except for the plants that reproduced through virus's instead of pollen...Phil725 wrote...

Well well well... the Plants on Rannoch rely on large animals to survive and reproduce, so hair would be very helpfull for collecting that pollen, and it would just fall whenever it felt like it, or when Quarian shakes their hairPhil725 wrote...

The fact that the quarian home world is a arid world I'd lean towards them being hairless with leathery/scaly skin, but that's just my opinion.
It never states how arid their world is if I'm not mistaken. Simply that it is more arid than Earth. Plenty vague enough for any interpretation. I doubt that their world is as bad all over as deserts on Earth.
Also, a certain climate is also no guarantee of a specific trait. Plenty of hairy animals come out of deserts.
Never thought about that. Its actually good supporting evidence for hair. We know that quarians evolved as responsible for pollinating plants. What better way to do that than hair?
I Found my Original Argument on why they have Hair
