Whoever wins doesn't have any effect on us at all.  Our place as the gigantic unstoppable fan base has long been secured.  The fact that we're keeping it close against all other fans together just adds fuel to that fire, regardless of what the final number is.  By now we've made our point really, there is no way Bioware can question who the most popular character is

As far as the results, its just fun to win.

Drink only water, eat a lot of rice and ramen(cheap), and just do 3 sets of as many pushups and situps as you can every day.

I'm more surprised that so many people see themselves as Shepard.  I always got the feeling that he was just another character who's decisions I controlled.  He was a good character, but I liked a few better.  I just couldn't get into the full role playing spirit.

I blame it on not seeing Tali's face

Well that is the point in many RPG's, you are this character. Of course I don't actually think that, but I did vote for Shepard.

I think its more like Shepard is a human and Tali is the lion.  Its basically this video



Tali is the lion, the unquestionable king of its environment.  No other squadmate has a chance against her.  The humans though, still have the advantage.  You would think that the unfair advantage would just destroy her, but it doesn't.  Tali is able to make a valiant effort.  The fact that she doesn't kill all the hunters doesn't make it any less impressive.

I think it makes sense, I'm tired <_<

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with a protagonist vs side character poll.  My problem with it is that Shepard in this sense is a fluid character.  Different for each person.  Everyone is voting for "their" Shepard.  It's adding up the votes for 175 different characters, and totalling those votes against one.

For the poll to be between two characters, you need to set up a specific Shepard.  Default appearance and a specific set of choices.  Then it would be fair, and not a compilation of avatars vs a character.

I think the best Shepard would probably be the one that uses the middle right choice every time.  Completely neutral.  Any deviation from that would be the player's choice.
