Firefly. I think JMS and Babylon 5 have ruined sci-fi TV for me,
forever. I'm going to be comparing everything I see to Andreas Katsulas'
delivery of G'kar's speech after he gets kicked off the council.... And
that speech will win, every time.

Perhaps these scenes might make help you change your mind and spur you on to borrow or rent a season or two of the New BSG.
BSG Space Battles
However I will have to say that the new BSG is really more a "soap" then a full fledge Sci-fi flick. 
Relatively "low tech" compared to most Sci-fi stuff out there ....its very very much closer to the tech we have now in the 20th centrury minus jump drives and gravity control.
And the story is more ...drama (politics / family / day to day life) then anything else. Still when they do have battles...it is usually massive cluster frack. :happy:
