Ah so foolish...........but the truth is the Regualrs in the Canadian Forces get equivalent training to U.S. Special Forces (Except Delta Force, those guys would pose a challenge to JTF2)

I interpreted it more as a Shepard is spending the night in a sleeper pod, thing.  Rather than a which outfit do you prefer thing. 

I would love Shepard having a foot in mouth moment with the LI in ME3
