I love this time of day. "The hour of the wolf" for many and quite oddly, it is usually when the most intelligent conversations come about. Also some of the best artwork too.
I think there are always enough people around to have intelligent, lengthy discussions, they just either don't try, or can't start/sustain them during high post times of day. Its rough trying to have a lengthy debate where 2 pages fly between each post. Usually the less people around, the better the average conversation is. Its why the smaller character threads are always on topic.
I've found any time from the last few hours for like the next 7-10 hours even to be adequate for intelligent discussion. I actually like 4-5 hours from now better than now. There is still few enough people that you can discuss stuff easily, but there are more people to offer opinions in general.
Heh. There is one guy who posts on topic and intelligently, no matter what the time.

Discussions (intelligent or otherwise) usually just turn into huge quote walls whenever there are lots of people in the thread anyway. I don't know about you but I find it annoying when people don't snip quotes.Phil725 wrote...

I find quote walls to be more of a problem with spam wars than intelligent discussion. The thing with the latter is that the average post is a lot longer, so it adds up lengthwise quicker if no one is snipping. Quote walls usually tend to result from people trying to post very quickly, or just not really knowing how to snip. (both situations are more likely with people who are spamming or aren't
going to be having intelligent discussions.)
I find them annoying, but I always find myself a little conflicted. To keep post length managable, I usually can't leave more than 2 quotes at the top, but then often I end up responding to a point that I've already snipped. You kind of have to find a balance and skillfully snip.

Ya but I am thinking about this being the weekend too. No school for the kids, trolls whatever.
Usually we'll have a few hours of good intelligent posts, then the trolls come in, random sh*t starts flying, throw in the RPing, clique chat and derp spam...and no one will bother to post anything that cannot be summed in 1 or two lines.
Doctor being the exception. But even he is challenged to get his point across with just a few words in a post that gets buried in 3-5 pages deep within minutes.
And since I haven't seen a space elf pic for a while....

Spreading the B5 love too:
BEST "Hold the Line!" speech ever.
Earth Minbari War : Battle of the Line
And the song that makes me think of Tali and burns Jake's ears from its pure innocence
Lover's Concerto
Kelly's voice is just....makes you go ..."aaaawwwwww" in a good way. Lyrics too says what I think Tali wants to say.

Epic. I just hope they aren't all dudes with white suits and helmets and black rifles that shoot red laser.
