Mystery eventually needs to be rewarded with something concrete or it merely becomes a cheap tease. Tali isn't cheap.

What about all those unsolved murders that people are still obsessed with to this day? Like Jack the Ripper for example. I doubt he will ever be identified. Nothing concrete has came out of it, yet it still continues to inspire.

A dialogue option would be welcome, but I worry that she'll just end up looking like the sexy space elf that most people want her to look. If anything, BioWare should be unorthodox and make her look like... more alien, for the lack of a better word.

Jack the Ripper inspires? I should hope not, at least not in certain ways. Besides, how much does he (presumably) inspire exactly? That figure has become more like a half-forgotten folk lore figure that is occassionally remembered by some of the masses when his profile is flashed in a "Top Most Vicious Serial Killers" episode on TV or in a Hollywood blockbuster. Then most everyone quickly puts it out of their minds again and move on to the next thing they can consume. That's essentially cheap entertainment. Tali deserves better. As stated previously: I am unrelenting and merciless in my pursuit of a Tali face reveal. There is nothing you can say or do to persuade me that your current stance is the better option and yes, if it ever came to it I would fight you tooth and nail over such an outcome. Do I expect it will come to that? No, but I am that committed.

I wouldn't be disappointed, but it's already been established that their ears are noticeably different from human's... Elf ears aren't really that different.

Human eyes + human nose + human jaw = pseudo-human = space elf.

To be honest it does not really matter what she ends up looking like because I like the charecter but space elf hybrid thing seems possible.

So what? That doesn't bar such an option from working. If people of their free volition end up stumbling upon it online after the game's release then that is their responsibility for making the choice to risk it by surfing online. Fail? That would be a wonderful idea, but unfortunately, BioWare has already stipulated that quarians have human-like jaws. So, unfortunately for me so many other people who want Tali to be semi-ugly just out of principle, it's not going to happen, which is good for people of your caliber, I suppose.

I think the only reason we might not see quarian faces is if Bioware gets lazy and just don't want to put the effort to make face morphs for yet another race. Humans and Asari get facemorphs, the other races all look the same (with little changes of color / face tatoos / helmets, whatever).

If they show Tali I hope they use Liz' facial features and I'll be happy, no matter what color she ends up being

Given BioWare's established and proven dedication to minutiae in their games, and considering that it is just one more face out of so many others along with the fact that ME3 is Shepard's & Co.'s swan song, I would be very surprised if they didn't incorporate Tali's face out of laziness.

The way the book put it, it was more guessing that they had ears there, instead of the "Oh hey, that right there's an ear"

Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids and tear ducts. Their ears or ear analogues differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear" (Ascension, p. 235).
