I have this horrific fear that it's an ecological thing: Mass effect technology eventually has that effect on suns. This would explain why the Reapers chill out in dark space during the intervals, to let the stellar ecology recuperate.sergio71785 wrote...
So, what's going on with Haestrom's sun? Do the Reapers got like, a big ol' backup Mass Relay in there protected by a super powerful mass effect barrier (Like what protects the collector base in the galactic core)?

i thinking cerberus has something to do with it. they don't want quarians recolonizing that planet so they destroy the sun.
What? I hope this is a joke post.
Cerberus can't destroy a star--no known race has that kind of technology. The Quarians can't even reclaim Haestrom, it's in Geth territory.

No kidding. If Cerberus could do that, I figured they'd start with Palaven or something, rather than pick on the quarians. I mean, their own beef with the Flotilla is that they wanted to recover their pet research project.sergio71785 wrote...

It also means that at the end of ME3, everyone is going to have to go home and never see their friends again.sergio71785 wrote...

Yeah I've heard that theory before. It's pretty scary, since it basically means that the Reapers are... ultimately the good guys.

I just can't imagine any known race having that capability. Stars are just so... mind-bogglingly large.
And TIM chills out (lol ironic pun) near a star because it's a cool thing to look at; and it makes his secret base harder to spot (the emissions of a star could mask a small space station pretty well I guess).
