So, what's going on with Haestrom's sun? Do the Reapers got like, a big ol' backup Mass Relay in there protected by a super powerful mass effect barrier (Like what protects the collector base in the galactic core)?

i thinking cerberus has something to do with it. they don't want quarians recolonizing that planet so they destroy the sun.

What? I hope this is a joke post. :P

Cerberus can't destroy a star--no known race has that kind of technology. The Quarians can't even reclaim Haestrom, it's in Geth territory.

No kidding.  If Cerberus could do that, I figured they'd start with Palaven or something, rather than pick on the quarians.  I mean, their own beef with the Flotilla is that they wanted to recover their pet research project.

I just can't imagine any known race having that capability. Stars are just so... mind-bogglingly large.

And TIM chills out (lol ironic pun) near  a star because it's a cool thing to look at; and it makes his secret base harder to spot (the emissions of a star could mask a small space station pretty well I guess).

His Bace of operations is on earth... in New Jersey (Assension Book)

LOL in New Jersey?? That place already has a bad rep!:lol:

I have this horrific fear that it's an ecological thing:  Mass effect technology eventually has that effect on suns.  This would explain why the Reapers chill out in dark space during the intervals, to let the stellar ecology recuperate.

Yeah I've heard that theory before. It's pretty scary, since it basically means that the Reapers are... ultimately the good guys.

That's a scary thought.  Like the Reapers are necessary for life to continue....
I don't like that idea. :o

Hey man, I've been to New Jersey, and I don't remember seeing a huge ball of plasma-ized gas there! :P

Then again, this is in the future and that place sure smells like gasoline...

But in all seriousness, I was referring to that space station he appears to be in at all times.

It was a joke... its actually a digital screen, The Assension book details exactly where Cerberous Head Quarters is, and TIM is their on the top floor...

Its on Earth Near the Equator

Just posted chapter 3 to my fan fiction "Mass Effect: Foundations". It's about a childhood friend of Tali's, set after ME1, before ME2, and during/after the "Ascension" book. Please take the time to read it if you can and please comment!

It seems pretty smart to me.  Alien organizations can't really go scouring Earth for him, and I doubt the Alliance has any interest in shutting him down.  If they aren't outright supporting Cerberus financially, they certainly aren't trying to shut them down.

Good and bad plays no part in survival. They may be looking out for the continuation of life and of the galaxy, but their method forgoes any shred of morality.

Actually his Base of Opperations Is a Company that specialises in some sort of thing... I think its manufactureing of some sort, and thats the coverup for Cerberus, and only those part of Cerberus, and a select few others now about that...
It really is a Manufactureing Company who's name I cant remember, but that is just the coverup for the real thing... Cerberus

The wolves?  Or the Reapers?

The wolves killed to keep life from exhausting the galaxy's resources before the universe is done expanding (or something like that).

Under the "ecological catasptrophy" theory, the Reapers kill to keep mass effect technology users from wrecking all the suns in the galaxy.  And they "preserve" worthy races by turning them into Reapers.

Are they?  I know there is a thresher maw set up or two, but I get the feeling that Cerberus is a net plus for the Alliance as a whole.  Who cares about a few dead soldiers if you can throw a few million credits at an organization and get back some huge scientific breakthrough that will help all of humanity.

I know Cerberus has done some terrorist activities, but their goals seem to be larger than that, with furthering all of humanity.

I know this is a complete and utter ripoff from Half-Life 2...

But I think it'd be pretty cool if like, at the end of ME3 you board a reaper (Harbinger?), and it does something to screw up all the mass effect devices in your party, but instead it ends up powering your biotic amp (remember, even non-biotic Shepard is a [slight] biotic!), and you can rampage through him wiping out everyone with bolts of biotic energy :D

Note: While typing this, I rolled my chair back and got one of my cat's tails. Ouch. :/
