Well it depends on the subject or theme of your album. In my honest opinion I don't think mixing something that says "This is war" with something that says "live for the moment" is good. Thats just my opinion no need go spreading it around lol. On a serious note the reason it's not a good Idea in my eyes is because an album should tell a story. This is main reason I love your songs each one has a description and puts visualization into my thoughts. for example when I listen to care free; I visualize my wife and I sitting in the meadows of a park, just watching ass the sun comes up, smiling laughing and having fun not caring about anything but having a good time. I'm sure that's the feeling you was looking for when you created the song.If a album can't do that than there's no point in it; no emotion it's just basically a collector. So that's my input on mixing the two together.The_KFD_Case wrote...

Good day folks. I may be lurking in and out for a bit. Any takers on what the upcoming BioWare announcement may pertain to?
Also, here's a small shameless promotion for my YouTube Channel where I've posted my musical compositions (you can also simply click on the link in my signature). I uploaded a new piece yesterday entitled "Soul Jazz."

Thank you very much Sleepic! I recall you mentioned that idea previously and I've been looking in to the matter further. There are several different online companies one can register with at fairly low prices - and in a number of cases keep 100% of the commission - that distribute to music download stores such as iTunes, Amazon, etc. Before I do that though I plan on taking an uncle up on an offer to visit a professional sound mixing studio owned by a guy he used to play in a band with and have the tracks mastered. Whether they'll sound noticeably better or not remains to be seen.
I've been debating with myself whether to compile an album that contains both the movie-genre music I've created along with the more electronic and easy-listening pieces. They do not seem to go hand-in-hand in my opinion and thus it might be a better marketing move to create separate albums for them. Any thoughts on that idea?
P.S. Also, just for prudence sake I plan on taking legal steps to secure the copyright of my music. Technically as soon as you create a piece of music you own the copyrights to it unless otherwise negotiated in a contract. Still, should there ever be a legal case it will be easier to dismiss and/or win the case by having certain legal safeguards in place.
As for the Copyrights thing. I completely agree you should take the necessary precautions, so that you can unsure nobody steals your work of art. You'd be amazed at how many will commit plagiarism and bastardize all the hard work one put into something. Just cold heartless people they are. So yeah you should copyright first.
Your uncle sure does recognize talent. Just be careful with record companies. I suggest thoroughly reading the contract at least 10 times before signing. Record companies have been known to how should I say....get over on their artist.
Thanks for the feedback Sleepic. I think you raise some salient points - especially in regards to a song and/or an album telling a story. I find it interesting you should mention that the main reason you enjoy my songs is due to the mental images they conjure up. Just about each single piece was created with a mental image or mental images and/or associated emotions as the source of inspiration. I'm pleased to see that it is reflected in the end result. I'm a little torn on whether an entire album needs a unifying theme (i.e. each song telling a story that ties in to a larger interconnected story between the various songs on an album), or alternatively have a collection of songs that share similar themes and sounds but aren't necessarily directly related in a larger project. That said, we are in agreement that (short of "greatest hits" albums) joining too many and/or extremely different genres together can undermine the overall impact of an album.
Regarding contracts, not to worry: I make a habit of reading every single line, including the fine print, before signing anything of a perceived significant nature.

I would gladly burn some money on a album of your incredible good music. Everytime i start playing your channel i can't stop listen to the tracks over and over again.
