I didn't mention any names at the time, but yes, I did in fact base that assessment of mine on some of your comments and behaviour in this thread back when a Talimance civl war was brewing. I'm currently writing two summaries and have a paper to start, as I don't have the emotional output of an intellectual flamewar. Those kind of flamewars DO exist...right?

Psychological warfare 101 overtures do not impress me, Ant. Nor does the surface attempt at charm.

I stood by those comments I made back then and I stand by them still. Acting privileged and trying to dictate to others how they should behave in a public thread, what is okay for them to discuss and what is not, etc. in a puritanical manner in tandem with your own inner workings is not tolerant which is how you described yourself a few pages back. To your credit you later came back and apologised - fair do to you on that part.

It's not charm. It's respect. Though you know I don't have blind respect, as most people do. I have respect for the comments you used to make. I don't respect you because your name is posted on the OP, but for the comments you've made in the past. I thought you would understand that. A ton of the people who stopped posting in the thread post in that group now. Whether they agree with me or not, it's a place where some like to go. It's solved the problems as far as ****storms have gone, and you all rarely see me telling you all to get back on-topic, no?  It's a win win for all and relations have been fairly better since then.

You said it yourself. This is a public site. People of all ages use it. People use it if they're at work, or if they're at home. It should be moderated to be a safe site for all to see. A lot of people seem to agree with me, I guess. Didn't make it to spite you all, made it so people can have a place to go without seeing censored shots and all that. Also it's a nice place where I don't have to sift through Asari and Geth RP.

Now. I'd really like to avoid having this drag on.

We are in agreement that it's a more-or-less amicable solution to what was growing into an 800-lbs gorilla problem. I don't feel much of anything towards the group you helped create - it simply is. As long as it doesn't provoke a conflict I'm content to let it be the way I tend to view other threads in general. As for respect it is something to be commanded, something to be earned. Courtesy however is a matter of manners and need not require outright respect towards the person or persons being addressed.

Regarding running a "safe site" that evidently involves various definitions of what constitutes "safe". Besides, I do not consider it anyone else's responsibility to keep law and order in this forum except for official members of BioWare and their appointed moderators. I tend to frown on uppity vigilantism which is another reason you and yours setting up your own place works quite well for the different camps involved. I only recognize BioWare's/EA's authority in this place (and legitimate national governments) thus I won't recognize nor conform to restrictions laid down by other forum members. They simply do not have the proper mandate of authority.
