Although doesn't Tali stay on the Normandy until the collectors attack? I recall hearing that somewhere, and if that was the case, I kind of feel like Shepard would have to re-evaluate whether he should go for it then.
Yeah she's on the ship when the Collector's attack. When you talk to Jacob, he specifically mentions "the non-human crew members--the Quarian, the Asari--they all made it out alive"
Her still being there is all kinds of d'awwwwww. So, she's done with her pilgrimage, and finished the mission like she said, but she's still sticking around? D'awwwwwwww!
Well then that right there should tell Shepard something. With how much she talked about going back to the flotilla.
I can see Tali wanting to stick around though. Think about it from her point of view. She hears all these horror stories about being discriminated against, and how hard her pilgrimage will be. Then right at the start, she gets saved by a dashing commander who invites her into his crew and treats her like an equal. Then they go off on an adventure and save the world.
I'm not sure what Tali was expecting on her pilgrimage, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't expecting anything close to that good. It makes sense that she wouldn't want the journey to end. She loves the flotilla, but I think she kind of assumes that once she leaves the Normandy, that will pretty much end the most fun of her life.
