Yes, after hearing the "I've watched you on Virmire, I've watched you on Feros, I've watched you stand strong against everything the galaxy threw at you... I've watched you for so long, but never imagined you'd see past this *points at mask*"  line I wanted to make my Shepard start repeatedly smacking his head on the wall...

I mean... damn... if that's not a declaration of true, TRUE love, then I don't know what is. And the thought that I (I=my Shep) didn't see this in ME1 makes me feel like a complete douchebag for romancing Ashley/Liara.

i hear you man i really felt bad for romancing Liara/Ashley in ME1 after i found out Tali loved me since ME1. So because i felt bad i made a new character and ran though ME1 with no romances

Tali's romance was the only one that was true love. It had so much emotion, passion, and feeling that it makes me not romance anyone else in ME2 and i dont mind that:wub:. I cant wait and see how bioware expands on this epic romance in ME3.

It really does feel terrible romancing anyone else after Tali pours her heart out to you like that.  I'm in the process right now of "correcting" my ME1 playthrough. 

Liara and Ashley are nice, but not worth it.

Trying to look from Tali's perspective in ME1 and it is not hard to see why she didn't made her feelings known. First off whether or not you like Ashley, she is one aggressive female and she is obviously human. It does not help that the other LI is an Asari, Liarra being of a race that could essentially mate with anything.

Poor Tali may have felt an attraction towards Shepard but considering that she had both a human and an asari as her rivals she must have decided that she didn't stand a chance.



When I go back and replay ME1 to rebuild characters, the only hint that she gave of her feelings towards you is if only you talk to her often and do her 'special' quest. She tells you that you are different from anyone she has met. So she is no stranger to abuse from the other races because she's a Quarian. She then mentions that you were willing to see past the fact that she is Quarian and treat her as an equal. Slight emotion there, and at the time I thought it was the opening that was needed to start a romance. Little did we know then that Bioware scrapped Tali's romance dialogue. Still I think that line was a left-over that they decided was fine where it was.



Though, the real hint that she felt something for you was when you gave her the geth data. She changed the 'we' to 'I' telling you that she personally felt that there is no way for her, a Quarian, the paraiahs, in the ME universe, to be able to repay you for your kindness towards her. For those who tok that path, I think that was the moment that cemented her love for you.



Events in ME2 gave her, her chance. Ashley abandoned you for her duty, while Liarra for revenge. In my mind I could shee her thinking 'this time I'll tell him!' when she sees you again. She wasn't sure if you'd take her of course, thus her so endearngly nervous approach.



For ill or good, Bioware outdid themselves writing Tali's Romance.

My first playthrough was a femshep and I did Kelly.  But as soon as I played male shepard and heard Tali was into me, none of those others had a chance.

i never considered kelly as an LI because there was nothing there. At least with others you and work for it and there was something but Kelly just seemed blandish and she just danced for you nothing special
Tali is the best LI choice and best girl in the ME universe

There wasn't much in the way of good lovin' available for femshep, I took what I could find.  Plus, she feeds your fish.

Tali is certainly the best at everything she does.  Because she's Tali...no one else can compare.

yeah, i did a playthrough where i wanted to romance jack and then i did tali on accident. when you break up with tali she gets all sad. it made me sad face:(

I practically had to beat back Jack and Miranda with a stick.  I just tried to be nice to them, and before I knew it they were trying to encroach on Tali's territory.
