Ok, I'm going to ask a question but before I do I want you to know that I am not trolling and that I mean no offense to any of you for your liking Tali as a LI. I'm just curious to know something about your thought processes regarding Tali. In context, I romance Liara and similar things can be said about her as a romance. I'm not a die hard Liara fan, I don't write fan fiction about her and I don't post regularly in the Liara thread. I'm a relatively level headed fan of her.
Ok, and now to the question. What do you all see in Tali? I romanced her in ME2 because I was curious but I did it on my single import. In all my conversations with her in ME1 and ME2 she came across like a little sister. I have a little sister and so romancing someone who came across like a little sister just felt so wrong. That disturbs me a little, but I suppose you guys didn't read it that way. I always felt like I was commiting incest because of how she came across to me. What about your perception of her is different from mine? Do you not see her like a little sister? I understand that she is only 5/7 years younger than Shepard but that doesn't affect how she came across to me. Maybe it is just her personality, it might just rub me the wrong way.
I don't create a new thread because then I wouldn't hear from all the fans, I would hear from people that agree with me, which is not what I want. Please take me seriously, I don't intend to offend, I'm just curious.
Ok. She never seemed like a little sister to me. I have no sisters in real life. She also reminded me of Mission Vao from KOTOR. She's good with machines and mechanics, which is, to me, attractive. She also has mystery. Her hips are an added bonus. I love her TRANSYLVANIAN accent. Also, most of us Talimancers are lonely, depressed, guys with no lives. (MOST not ALL).
Ok, I personally don't find mechanics attractive, I'm an anthropology major in college and I like being around people, the more intellectual the better.

Ok, that's what I figured. I've several of you guys outside this thread explaining your like for Tali and I guessed it was just a difference of opinion.
I have 3 sisters 1 older and 2 younger. I can't say I felt the same as you when I played ME1 8 times over. The story in ME1 was like she was young and on her Pilgrimage (22 I guess is "young") she got some help from you, gave you some help. Quarians aren't viewed well, so she is nice to you like a sister when you are nice to her. She's also way too hot and smart for me to consider her a sister. Was it a specific line or something? The fact you couldn't romance her in ME1? Or are you talking about her being like a little sister in ME2? Cuz I definitely don't see that.

Talimancers make up 75% of ME1/ME2 fans. I discovered ME1 by chance at Wal-Mart. BioWare doesn't advertise much. You have to DIG DEEP to find out stuff like we Talimancers do. Digging deep takes a lot of time.

guardian we look at tali and we see someone with a great personality and a great body, and i mean i felt like she wasn't so much a little sister as she was someone who needed someone to help her through hard times. most of us feel sympathy towards her living life in a suit and we (I) hope that in ME3 you can help Not just Tali but the entire quarian race through their hardship. So i dont no if youll understand what i mean but hopefully you will and if anyonr eould like to add to what i said go aheadGuardianAngel470 wrote...

I went to an auto shop class in college where people stuffed doritos in their mouths with hands covered in engine grease. The teacher, who wasn't that bright, joined them, and he failed to teach me anything. My personal experience of mechanics, of which the teacher was one before becoming a teacher, is of grimy people who barely know what they are talking about. I've had to have my car fixed multiple times because the mechanic failed to fix it the first time, and they charged me for each visit.
My personal experience belies your argument.

Well, in ME1 she was just starting her pilgrimage at age 22 (Shep was 26-29 I believe at the time). Then she went through the whole Saren and Geth thing with Shepard, and made her mature. Then in the intermission between 1 and 2, her fleet was attacked by Cerberus and she matured again. When ME2 rolled out, she came of as a leader to her squadron of soldiers. (Kal'Reegar, Veetor, Prazza, etc.) She only showed her shy, schoolgirlish self around Shepard.

I didn't read the OP of this thread until a few days after chatting. It really did explain a lot to me why she is viewed the way she is. I'm actually glad I was Talindoctrinated before this thread fully made it 100% clear why I was.
