In all my conversations with her in ME1 and ME2 she came across like a little sister.  I have a little sister and so romancing someone who came across like a little sister just felt so wrong. That disturbs me a little, but I suppose you guys didn't read it that way. I always felt like I was commiting incest because of how she came across to me. What about your perception of her is different from mine? Do you not see her like a little sister? I understand that she is only 5/7 years younger than Shepard but that doesn't affect how she came across to me.  Maybe it is just her personality, it might just rub me the wrong way.



I don't create a new thread because then I wouldn't hear from all the fans, I would hear from people that agree with me, which is not what I want. Please take me seriously, I don't intend to offend, I'm just curious.

guardian we look at tali and we see someone with a great personality and a great body, and i mean i felt like she wasn't so much a little sister as she was someone who needed someone to help her through hard times. most of us feel sympathy towards her living life in a suit and we (I) hope that in ME3 you can help Not just Tali but the entire quarian race through their hardship. So i dont no if youll understand what i mean but hopefully you will and if anyonr eould like to add to what i said go ahead

I can understand that.  I would comment though that if you think having a great body is as important as intelligence then I question your judgment.  I also feel a lot of sympathy towards the quarians and I always push for peace, but not because I like tali overmuch (I have a sister, I don't need another one) but because it is the smart thing to do.

I went to an auto shop class in college where people stuffed doritos in their mouths with hands covered in engine grease.  The teacher, who wasn't that bright, joined them, and he failed to teach me anything.  My personal experience of mechanics, of which the teacher was one before becoming a teacher, is of grimy people who barely know what they are talking about.  I've had to have my car fixed multiple times because the mechanic failed to fix it the first time, and they charged me for each visit.

You can't really judge a mechanic in school nowadays with an alien mechanic in the future. These days, mechanics fix cars. In ME2, she has to have information about flux capacitors, calibrations, logistics, composition of Eezo, etc. She must be smart if she can make scrap metal do precision jumps with only a computer microframe and a bit of eezo.

Working towards a bachelors in engineering would be the key phrase.  I didn't say that all mechanics were bad, just the ones I've met.  The fact that every mechanic I know was like that gives me a biased opinion.

she doesn't strike me as a mechanic so much as she strikes me as a mechanical engineer... she also has software, electrical, and quantum-mechanical engineering under her belt too

I see where you're coming from. Tali is just naturally nice, so I see how she could seem like a close relative or something. Bioware even said I think she was supposed to be "like a little sister" in ME1, but it seems more like love to me in ME2 with the "I'm here for you, not
Cerberus". I guess it comes down to opinion, so I respect that.

I didn't read the OP of this thread until a few days after chatting. It really did explain a lot to me why she is viewed the way she is. I'm actually glad I was Talindoctrinated before this thread fully made it 100% clear why I was.

OH a also most the things that the others are saying which i dumbmindedly left out
