Listen to the guy's stories. Everytime he should have died, it was all his friends that were wiped out instead. Sending Zaeed on a suicide mission would be sealing my own fate.

But seriously, if someone volunteered (Garrus, Thane, Jacob, whoever besides Tali) I'd probably take them up on it. I'm sick of protagonist-dies game endings. Fallout 3 made me rage hard (though that was in part because it was so contrived).

Overlooking his moment of temporary madness due to being blinded by a thirs for revenge, I actually found Zaeed quite likeable. Like the uncle with a metric ton of useful life experience. He'd make a fine mentor in a number of ways and in a fire fight he's as solid as they come.

Yeah, I didn't hate Zaeed either. I wish they'd have given him some more actual dialogue, instead of just telling us stories.
My favorite squad would still be Tali+Samara though.

Speculative. The future is unknown. Vito might have died shortly afterwards. Or perhaps one of the workers at the refinery migth eventually come up with some galaxy changing discovery or have a child that does, etc. It's all speculation and we can keep going in circles until the cows come home. What it comes down to is what you can do in the here and now and which path you choose. Personally the thought of listening to the screams of workers who weren't responsible for the fight as they burn alive is not something I was or am prepared to live with. Paradoxically I am prepared to sacrifice the residential area of the Watson colony and spare the industrial infrastructure since it allows recolonization in the long term. It comes down to what you value most at the given moment. Revenge against one individual whom has committed grave crimes against sentient beings but whom is merely one amongst many such types (and with whom the Blue Suns would still continue to operate afterwards given the Batarian co-CEO) might satisfy Zaeed to some extent, but is it truly worth the lives of X amount of refinery workers? I don't think it is, but then again one could also argue that if Vito then goes and perpetrates the death and suffering of thousands more that it would be worth it. As mentioned previously, we can keep going in circles over sets of possible futures that are unknown.

Most haters are trolls looking for quick kicks and know posting about tali is far more likely to be successful then any other character simply because of that very fact.

I have no idea why people can't ignore trolls. Blows my mind.

I couldn't care less what the outcome was on that one.  That was the first chance I got in ME2 to stick it to Cerberus and I took it.  Felt good.

(Again, I reserve the right to suddenly care if the outcome is sufficiently horrific.)

I tried all three options followed by reloads. Any long term consequences will likely not appear until ME3, if at all. I decided to stick with my first instinct which is to hold on to the information as an insurance policy. As the saying goes, "Knowledge is power"...And what you know about someone else can be used as a tool or a weapon.

I find all the ME2 characters likeable for different reasons. There isn't any single one of them I can genuinely single out and say I find nothing to like about. BioWare have done a sublime job in creating these characters, IMO.

Whoa, gotta part with you on that one.  There's women and kids down there.  It's a shame the colony will fail, but I think the colonists would rather be alive to start again somewhere else.

I was playing through the other day and got that e-mail from the colonist on Horizon talking about the missing kids (unworn winter clothes, empty desks at school, you know the one).  I'd forgotten about that detail on my previous playthrough.  I felt terrible when I realized that those kids are definitely gone, seeing as how you're barely in time to save your own crew.

I think it's because they're both nice and decent people, which tends to draw attention of various suckers and vocally opinionated would-be-badasses.
Quite a lot of people actually think being a decent, moral person is a synonym for being stupid in my country. It's very depressing, and it's what you get for suffering 40 years of communism 
Good thing intelligent and decent people also play Mass Effect, as evidenced by the rest of you band.
