Hi,

Miranda's my favorite character, but I wanted to show some solidarity given the Tali hate threads. I really like Tali, and I think that she potentially has a large role in ME3. I find her eventual softening towards Legion fascinating, and I think she's the best hope for quarian-geth peace.

Hi Jtav and welcome!

Thanks for the showing of support. I like Miranda as a character as well and hope to see her return in ME3 along with many others. A peaceful solution between the Quarians and the Geth FTW! :)

I saw your posts in the Miranda forum, and since I "promised" them that I'd tell you this;

I've heard he has some sympathetic things to say on Jack's loyalty mission as well.

He comments on how he never saw much point to torture. How he didn't have the stomach for it and how it always changed both people involved in the process.

That was on the Purgatory when you're recruting Jack. It's one of my favourite comments in ME2 though it isn't from Jack's loyalty mission.

I'd like to point out as well that whilst Zaeed formed the Blue Suns, that was the Blue Suns 20 years ago, not the Blue Suns NOW.

Back then they were nothing like the twisted slavers they are now. The reason Vido shot Zaeed and took over the Suns was because Zaeed flat out told him 'no' when Vido wanted to let Batarians into the organisation as slavers.

Vido was an administrator - the ME vision of a 'mafia boss'. Zaeed was the soldier and lead the men in battle. Vido went behind Zaeed's back and started working with the Batarians anyway, then turned Zaeed's less reputable men against him in a coup d'etat.

If Zaeed was truly a despicable man then Vido wouldn't have needed to go to such lengths to take over the Suns. Zaeed has honour, he just knows it has no place on the battlefield.

Isn't it great to see non-hater fans of other characters?

I personally, as shepard, would after blowing up the collector base, offer  to use the many forms of intelligence I have access too to find Vido and kill him.

And hope after that Zaeed decides to stick with me to kill more reapers

That was how I ultimately reacted as well during my first play through, and yet even as I chose to save them I was dissatisfied by the fact that humanity would be giving up its largest and most strategic colony in that region of space. The strategist in me values its long term value to the point that I can accept logical arguments for sacrificing several hundred colonists. Sounds very cold and callous I realise, yet there it is. If humanity loses that colony it's position in that region of space may never recover and there aren't that many immediately habitable planets available to humanity. It harkens back to an earlier discussion about sacrifice of team members. It's a crap shoot.

On my second play through I decided to save the infrastructure and sacrifice the hundreds of colonists despite my opposite decision during my first play through to save their lives because I could in the here and now and that's not a difference one gets to make every day.

Is it wrong of me that I pretend to save both targets because I think it silly there is only 1 missle destruct code?
Or that i was able to send a shuttle and fight on foot tot he controls, but not able to use the normandy to blow up the missles?
I
(Though technically I save the civilians)

I don't think so except for the bit about shooting down an interplanetary missile that's going to be moving at a speed of tens of thousands of kilometers per minute, if not more. It would likely be extremely difficult to shoot down.

It's one of the reasons the notion of "just send fighter jets to shoot down inter-continental ballistic missiles" was more or less considered a non-viable option during the Cold War. Something as simple as poor visibility due to bad weather could screw the mission and once the missiles' afterburners really kick in there is little chance of shooting them down. The missile shield program that was started up under the G.W. Bush administration still has technical issues in shooting down lone ballistic missiles and those are missiles whose trajectories they control.

True. I put alot of stock in EDI+Spaceship=catch all. When really it's easy to write  their limitations in.

The first one though is what truly bugs me.

I wish my country had an excuse for breeding immature jerks.  Then again, if 40 years of communism is what it takes, I guess pointless douchebaggery is a small price to pay.

It's not much of an excuse, anyway. Jerk is a jerk, no matter how screwed up his state's history was. It might explain it, but it doesn't make it easier to live with them.

Finally, enough of Tali cuteness for me to be able to stop coming here for at least a few hours. I really need to turn the studying up a peg.

Well it depends on the type of missiles. ICBMs basically fall apart, after they  reached their ballistic apogee and then they aren't that big targets anymore and far to fast to be intercepted.

But in this subquest it's all about the dilemma you have to face and I wouldn't say it is to contrived.

This, pretty much.  The attempted trolls are usually so inept that it's hard to be irritated with them.
