I don't think Liara has mental problems. First game she's just sort of a bookworm-y indiana jones wallflower with some issues with her mom, and the second game she's after some good ol' fashioned vengance. Not crazy pants.

Tali being dead to the plot because she can possibly die is silly, though.

You're making the same mistake the Liara fans made.  I'm not saying she is mentally ill or unstable, I'm saying that I saw both depression and obsession in Liara in ME2. Those can both be classified as mental problems in the literal sense.  The Liara fans saw the connotation of the phrase, which is why there was an argument.  It can be found on page 442 of the Liara thread.

What was the opinionary observation GuardianAngel made in the Liara thread that would bring hostility? They couldn't possibly be angry at saying Liara has mental problems...she clearly does.

Actually, that is exactly what they were angry about.  The objective observer sees mental problems, many of them saw love.  Difference of opinion that i tried to dissuade with my personal experience with getting over a mental disorder.  You can read the whole discussion on the Liara thread, it starts at page 442.

Sounds interesting. I think I'll do that. One thing about blogging and conversing with people is the psychological behavioral knowledge. Have learned quite a bit over last few months since joining the forums. I must say there are quite some intelligent people here despite the immediate impression you get when you see a thread get trolled.

 You can't sue me. I beat Warner Media Group, and gained the ability to use their copyrighted material on Youtube. 

And by beat, I mean I sent a dispute to Youtube simply quoting fair use law.

Yeah but I went on to give my personal impressions of Liara and I never stated them as fact.  I always said they were my impressions based on my experiences.  The only people I said were wrong were the people who claimed that because they helped someone with their mental issues that that somehow made them experience enough to judge me for not wanting to start a romantic relationship with someone who had their own issues.  I'm not masochistic, but they didn't want to acknowledge that I had more experience than them.

Maybe you can explain yourself again and what you were trying to do, but I believe you were attempting an experiment that involved provoking people and watching how it played out, right? So you wrote a statement that was intended to provoke people and those people were provoked. I don't see the reason to shake my head at Liara fans for reacting negatively to an experiment that I feel has some shakey ethical grounds, or feeling proud because Tali fans got your gold star for reacting in a more positive fashion to the Liara fans.
