Eh, I just cheated on Liara with Jack, and then later Tali... Here's to hoping I won't get a permanent STD debuff in ME3![]()
How many time do you cheat on women? Is that your hobby or something?
Thats why his avatar suits him so well.

I romanced Liara in ME1, and went to Illium to see her before I even knew Tali was a romance option. While she was clearly still fond of Shepard, I didn't get the sense that there was any solid relationship there, and that's without even getting into her railroading Shepard into helping her out with her new hobby of murdering people. I left Illium with my Paragon Shepard thoroughly repulsed by what the intervening years had done to Liara, and disappointed with all the potential LIs in the game. Enter Tali, and her wonderful storyline of having been in love with Shepard for years, but too insecure and shy to do anything about it. Tali was still the same tough, kind, generous and charming individual she had always been, but now Shepard was seeing her in a whole new light. It was utterly natural and believable.
Now call me crazy, but in my opinion that's not even in the ballpark of "cheating." Time moved on, Liara changed (very much for the worse), and that relationship was dead in the water. That's life. I thought it was very true-to-life. I mean, if that's cheating, my old college girlfriends are going to be pissed that I've lived with the same woman for five years. It might be different for Renegade Shepards, who are probably A-OK with the new Liara, or Ash romancers (although with her calling Shepard a traitor on Horizon, I can't imagine that went particularly well, either), but for my particular Paragon Shepard, no way and no how is that cheating, and he has nothing to feel guilty about once he's found happiness with Tali.

I don't consider cheating on in-game women actually cheating, the fact I can reload and they'd be none the wiser kinda diminishes the whole "cheating" part.
...Well...now that I think about it, someone told me that cheating is considered as something intelligent only if you are not caught.

Renegade Shep might still be pissed that she's not going to help him with the Collectors (aside from pointing him at Thane/Samara) but other than that you're pretty much right.Jakegnosis wrote...
I have a question. There's a lot of talk in this thread and its antecedents about "staying faithful" to the LI from ME1 and doing LI-free playthroughs of the first game in order to romance Tali without "cheating" on the previous romance. Frankly, I just don't understand this position at all.

As I've said, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you and while it's not a happy situation, it's nothing I regret.

I don't consider it cheating, but there is a dialogue option with Liara that shows her in a different light from how she acts with you in Illium 95% of the time that you can skip effortlessly. It explains how she obsessed and found your body and gave it to cerberus because she was incapable of letting you go. She even asks for your forgiveness. This has alot more meaning behind it if you romanced her. You can easily assume she's ashamed of herself and doesn't feel worth your Shepards attention anymore.
ANd she did save your body and get you revived, so that makes leaving her behind even more painful.
So alot of people are choosing not to romance people so as to not to hurt the other chrs.

Is sex really any cleaner? I mean it feels good, but...honestly...sex is one of the most aesthetically disgusting things the body can do.
There's wet slappying sounds.
Lots of sweat
Lots of various organic liquids
Irregularly intervaled moans, grunts, and shrieks.
Occasionally blood, urine and fecal mater is also involved.

I mean, hacking terminals is one thing, alright. Who doesn't like a little spying? But then she sorta blackmails you into picking someone for her to kill by saying "well, if you don't, I'll just have all the suspects murdered to make sure." Wow. Um... okay.
Speaking of which, I wonder if anything will happen in ME3 if you bagged the wrong suspect?

What Liara's up to on Illium should be anathema to any Paragon Shepard, in my opinion, no matter what the circumstances. I was disappointed that there wasn't a Paragon option to keep her from killing Nyxaris, personally, but "Could you see me in my office please, Nyxaris?" was just chilling. The Liara my Shepard fell in love with is gone.
