Damn the Geth!  If they don't want to negotiate, I'll come in with the Destiny Ascension, the Migrant Flotilla, and half the Alliance fleet (after a few really really compelling paragon conversations) and take every one who resists out. And then I'll build Tali that house.

Alliance maybe (though I doubt it,) but I can't see any way you're getting asari and other races to step up and help the quarians.

Outright war with the geth seems like a very bad idea in general, and I really can't see it coming to that.  If peace isn't an option, I think Xen's brainwashing is the only other alternative. 

I saved the Citadel, council, and galaxy for that matter.  That should secure at least one ship from the Citadel fleet.
And the Alliance...I was humanity's first SPECTRE, gave them a strong position on the council and in C-Sec, saved countless human colonies from the collectors. 

I think Shepard can be extremely convincing when he wants to be.  And the Geth are everyone's common enemy, being the scapegoats for Sovereign's attack on the Citadel.  It could happen.

There's a huge difference between everyone liking Shepard and hating the geth, and starting a war with a large race of sentient machines.  You aren't winning that war with one ship.  I don't know the numbers of the geth, but it will take a lot of ships, and will cost a lot of lives to destroy them.  The council won't agree to that when they can just sit back and say there is no problem.  Especially not to help some race that everyone hates.  Shepard carries weight, but not enough to get council races to sacrifice thousands to help galaxy's second rate citizens.

I also think the council's opinion of the reapers is a good indication of just how much they care about Shep's opinion.  Personally, I see a larger chance of fighting against the council in ME3 than them helping you

You can not trust the Geth. We are incapable of understanding their logic. We are incapable of understanding how they think and what they want.



Legion spies on Tali.

Legion claims geth are in favor of allowing all intelligent life to self determinate, but vote in majority of rewriting(direct conflict with previous claim) the heretics.

There was peace with the heretics and they allowed them to leave the geth collective after knowing their plans of wanting to exterminate all organic life in the galaxy. If my brother told me he wanted to go and murder every he came across you can be damn well I'm not going to say "Have fun."



They are machines, they think like machines. They are sentient, which means they are incomprehensible to us. What they truly want, and the means for them to acheive it do not go by the same basic logic of Risk Versus Reward that almost every action WE take evolves around.



Maybe the geth are sincere, or maybe they want the quarians to drop their guard, come back home under false pretenses and then get exterminated.



Regardless what you WANT to believe(I actually think they are benign, but thats based more on trends of Bioware writing) you can't trust them.
