All the relationships in ME jump to sex pretty fast. Would be nice if it were a bit... subtler. I'd say the ME1 crew members in ME2 (Garrus/Tali) are the ones that felt more natural... since there was more time for feelings to grow and all that.

Now this I can't help but agree with. I mean, I understand why they rushed into the Romance; equal parts people ****ing that the Romance dialogue took too long in ME1 and the fact that there is *so much* to do mission and side quest wise that I guess they didn't want to add it to the long list of things you needed to keep an eye on. Still, it would have been nice for *some* growth. Though, in regards to Tali, I guess the friendship you shared with her in ME1 was supposed to be where all that growth happened.

I'd wager by the time ME3 concludes, ash/kaidans will be pretty much untouchable. Although Tali's and thane's are no doubt the best ME2 romances.

Tali and Shep jumping straight to sex isn't really that shallow at all when you consider what I said 2 pages ago:

I imagine that's the reason for the quick progression of the relationship. the Ability to cuddle in bed and talk with her on the couch with her in her suit lets us see that the relationship is deeper than just intimacy out of mortal fear.

I concur. They have feelings for each other--thus, sex. A shallow relationship would have lacked all the feeling... plus you can cuddle with her etc. afterward. That's a clue that it wasn't just a one-night fling
