The quarians are gonna play a huge role in ME3, there's no doubt about that. I get the feeling Shepard's gonna be the one to finally resolve the quarian/geth issue, as well as the genophage, much like he did with the Rachni in 1. I'm guessing you'll either end up helping Xen brainwash the geth, or you'll stop her, instead finding a way to broker a peace between the geth and the quarians. I get the feeling Kal is gonna be right smack in the middle of it.
