It likely wouldn't have been nearly as good, so I think it worked for the best to leave her until ME2.

Kinda like waiting for ME3 to show her face.

I certainly did think the romances were done much better in ME2, and yes, I would like to see what's under that mask.

It would have been glorious if Tali had come and spoken to Shepard after the Normandy was grounded.

I would have loved that.  It didn't have to be a shallow sexual relationship like the other two.  It could have just been one extra line somewhere that hinted at them being really good friends, leaving the door open for a relationship in the future.

Then Tali could come down and comfort you.  We would have another Tali hug gif

I mean maybe it just TOOK two years for her to mature and build up the confidence to start a relationship. Maybe she she would be REALLY homesick and would her feelings for shep to stop her from coming home. OR do you think she would just jumped in his arm as soon as it was clear shepard cared for her?

I think its a great example of something great coming out of something bad.  If Tali was an LI in the first game, there's no way the romance would have held the same weight as it does now.  This is assuming they even made her a squad mate in the first place.  Going back, we should all celebrate Tali not being an LI in ME1.  That kind of shallow three conversations and sex thing doesn't really fit her.  I wouldn't have minded being able to at least open the door a little though.  Drop some hint or something

I would like to get a little window into Shepard's feelings from the time though.  Tali was always extremely hot, and she had a good personality in ME1.  There's really no excuse for his obliviousness <_<

It wasn't so much obliviousness as it was a lack of initiative. At first, I was under the impression that she was just not interested, but apparently Tali was afraid to act upon her feelings.

Oh well, I'm happy with what we got.

Off-color jokes are like half of my life.

Not so much on the internets though.  You don't need to worry.
Especially when Quarians are involved.

Once in high school a several of us told so many dead baby jokes in class that we made this one girl leave the room crying. . .

I shouldn't have laughed at that story but I did.

I think this would have been ideal. No sex. No real continuation. But maybe just something that would give Shepard a hint at her feelings.

Going by her dialog in ME2, I tihnk Tali would have absolutely accepted.

Like she said, how could she not develop interest in a dashing commander that rescued her and let her join his crew?

I've done that before, It's pretty awesome. It sucks at first, but afterwards your hands gain the power to crush worlds. 

You make a valid point but frustration is making me make more mistakes than I care to mention.
