I've mentioned this way back when, but IMO Tali felt more natural. I purchased Mass Effect last fall, way after the very public Sexbox scandal with ME1, and when I heard there were romances in Mass Effect , I was one of those naive, hormone-filled children. Yes, while Ash did end up being nice and all, the entire time I had "I just want to romance her" in the back of my mind.

HOWEVER, I never knew, before Mass Effect 2 was released, that Tali was going to be a love interest. In ME1, she was awesome, and I took her everywhere, but it never occured in my mind to try to romance her. Playing through her recruitment mission, those audio logs saying "I wish Shepard were here" in her adorable accent aroused my interest. Again, I took her on all of my missions. When Kelly informed me after Tali's loyalty mission of Tali's reaction to me walking into the same room as her, her softening, my heart literally melted with honest joy. I was going to romance Miranda at first, mostly for the same reasons I romanced Ash, but Tali blew me away with her romance.

That's the way it was with a lot of people I think.  We loved Tali before we LOVED her.

I agree. I am in the same boat as I didn't play ME1 till last fall as well (weird). Tali/Wrex/Garrus all the way, only difference is I pretty much knew she was a ME2 LI. Kelly's line kinda spoiled it, but it was the most beautiful thing to hear from Kelly the whole game nonetheless.

Tali's diary, I picture her kinda like this when making the audio logs.....

Bioware better not pull some kind of sh*t where Tali and Shepard have to separate...because I don't think most of our Shepard would accept it.

I know mine would give up everything to continue being with her.

my story is i get me1 and like tali but saddened cuz she cant be romanced. so i just do liara and ash wich are both kinda lame charactars but thats just my opinion when i saw samaras me2 trailer so i wanted to romance her then i realize u couldnt but then i herd kelly say oh tali likes u and i was like wtf and now i am swept off my feet by tali everytime

i would like to see some sort of plot twist between the two...but it better be a damn good plot twist before I'll ever accept. Do you realize if something like this happens, you won't be able to team up with tali until maybe the final mission??

Now that would just be devastating.

"Life for the fleet" I've mentioned this before. That's all Tali and the quarians talk about is "my life for the Fleet!". Tali wouldn't be exiled unless there were specific conditions. For the most part, she seems to be at the whim of the Fleet's demands.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, an ME3 without a happy ending for Shep/Tali < No ME3 at all.

I find it a little odd that my love for one character overrides the rest of the game, but it really does.  Some combination of me loving Tali and not being overly impressed with the rest of the game

i would like to see some sort of plot twist between the two...but it better be a damn good plot twist before I'll ever accept. Do you realize if something like this happens, you won't be able to team up with tali until maybe the final mission??

I may need to invest in a computer from this millenium for access to having Tali on my team sooner

Like I said, if Shepard didn't have the power to stop her from leaving, he would definitely order Grunt to step on his head and squish him
