Well, I'm with you on energy drinks, anyway.  As a fine dining bartender for eight years and a wine rep for two, I can't get on the anti-booze train.  Crappy booze is crappy, but fine alcohols are as much art as beverage.  Mind you, I'm drinking the local swill right now :P.

The thing about "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" is that frontier America is as much the "villian" as Indio.  It's a much more vast experience than the previous films, with all the ugliness and valor that entails.  It's honestly as much a road movie as anything else, and all the characters are purposefully ambiguous.

I try all sorts of Alcohol, good wine is....well very very tastey. But I refuse to get drunk. I've not even had a buzz in my life, much less been Tipsy.

Problem for good alcohol is the same as energy drinks. Is it better tasting then Dr.Pepper? The answer is always no. Dr.Pepper is also always cheaper then even the cheap booze.

Personal choice.

And yeah, I like a more personal touch in my movies. Good villians are important. Saren is the primary reason ME1 has a much better story then ME2(though weaker chrs)

He brought a personal element that Harbinger just isn't able to breach.

Well, hell.  I'm sorry you're so upset, but I'd still be interested in your opinions on Clint Eastwood movies and adult beverages.  Sort of a side discussion we're indulging in tonight.  The Tali thread strives to make everyone feel welcome.

I felt Indio was a great villian, something Angel Eyes didn't fulfill quite as nicely. I mean hell, Indio murdered a mans wife and baby girl, then tormented him with the impossible chance to avenge them before gunning him down. Instant status.

and Booze/Energy drinks are fail. Never been drunk, never will.
Energy drinks just taste bad.

Oh I'm not against booze, just don't  like it myself, but I am against people getting wasted, all thats showing is that they have low self control.

i understand you. still, i love the taste of a cold beer, and it's always fun to be drinking with a group of good friends, getting wasted or not

Again, I disagree.  Sometimes people need to lower the barriers and just cut loose.  I don't condone people who get drunk and act like utter jackasses, but most people who like to booze it up on occasion don't do anything reprehensible; as long as someone has enough of a handle on themselves to not do something awful, why shouldn't they be able to cut loose on the weekend?

low self control equals not being able to think clearly when drunk, doing stuff you regret later on.
myself, i usually have full control over my actions and doings.

I'm selfish in that I think people should be able to not need booze and drugs to be able to relax like that. As I am always on the outside looking in on my friends, they are not the same people when even slightly drunk or high.

Wine is the most complicated (and awesome) of all adult beverages.  There are tons of people who drink wine not as an intoxicant, but as a compliment to fine dining.  Different fine wines have been refined and tinkered with to interact with different dishes in a very specific way, and they can enhance a dining experience tenfold if you pair a nice wine with a nice dish.

Hell, I'd be happy to answer anyone's wine/food questions.  For Tali, you understand.  I feel that she'd understand.  That stuff gets seriously arcane.

Actually, drinking moderately (especially red wine) has been proven to have beneficial effects on the body.

*cough*backontopic*cough*  If Tali had two glasses of a nice red wine every night, it would be good for her immune system.

I meant that I'm not gonna get drunk, not that I will  never drink. Yes, moderate alcohol thins the blood which helps prevent clots, and there are very strong antioxidants in red wine.

ok guys, its done! My latest poem is finished!

http://social.biowar...2501/blog/2274/

You can read it here! Its the fourth in my series of poems chronicling the romance between Tali & Shepard!

This latest one is set between ME1 & ME2, and details Shepard's recovery.

Shepard (prelude to ME2):

Floating through the void, in space and in dreams
My mind wandering, what happened to me?
Memories, images, fly by my eyes
I've no mouth, and no soul can hear my screams
Why am I still here, and how can I feel?
My last day passed, yet I feel cold as ice
Shivering, I can hear them whispering
Some sweet sensation, and a tinge of pain
Now they infiltrate me, medicate me,
Operate, and a brief awakening
Two figures speaking, images fleeting
Higher dosage and my conscience fading
Memories surface, 'tis for you I fight
Soul still flickers, my fire given life
Tali, my heart beats once again for thee,
I'll see you, let the memories remain
For you, even in death I cannot leave
One day I'll awaken, gain freedom
Soon I'll see you, be there to protect you
Tali, will you remember me that time?
Though you never knew, shed no tears, don't mourn
Even in death, these feelings give me life
No more a corpse, with life and love reborn

If you haven't read the first three, all four are here:

http://social.biowar...2501/blog/2274/
