I concur. That paragon peace option is definitely the route to go, because this would NOT end well for anyone involved. Quarians get slaughtered, geth take heavy losses, and Shepard would lose two factions to help him fight the reapers.The_KFD_Case wrote...
Sorry, not in the mood to do so at present time. It's late here and I'm about go to bed. Regardless, the Quarians are not reknowned for their military might. That would fall to the Turians, the Krogans and yes, even humanity in the ME universe. The Asari are often overlooked yet are far more numerous, powerful and potentially dangerous than their surface flighty charms might suggest. In a fight between the Geth and the Quarians as things currently stand I'd bet on the Geth.
plus who knows how that would affect Tali? I'd put my money on badly.
not that anyone was arguing against that, I just felt like saying that. Ate up time. *goes back to paper*
I added this while you were posting:
The Quarians couldn't handle them when they were at their strongest.
They sure as hell can't handle them in a stand-up fight now in their
weakened state, even more so considering the Geth appear to have
advanced even further since the Morning War. IMO, Kal has it
right: Throw the Quarian fleet at the Geth and all the admirals are
getting back is shredded metal (and it won't be just be Geth metal). The
Geth have the potential to be the mightiest military might in the
entire galaxy due to their platform logistics. No pain. No fear. No need
for rest or food/drink. Some units able to repair while on the field of
battle under own power. Speed of light or faster internal
communications, etc.
They're pretty much super soldiers.
Also, lets not forget that the system that has Haestrom in it, that atleast one of those planets has 5000 to 10000 geth ships docked at it.
Thats... alot.
All Tali fans, read this! IT'S UP TO US TO KEEP TALI ALIVE! 3.0!!

Hey guys, I'm calling for backup here
I started a thread about the relative competence of the Quarian military here http://social.biowar...index/1436557/1
If you think you can help me defend against the Quarian haters come on over
Hell, I even question the competence of the Quarian military. I suspect they are quite adept at hit-and-run tactics but in a stand up fight I expect them to get hammered.
read my points in the thread, then tell me you question their competence
Remember, anyone who isn't shepard or his squad will get wasted in the ME universe, it just happens
Sorry, not in the mood to do so at present time. It's late here and I'm about go to bed. Regardless, the Quarians are not reknowned for their military might. They are tech heavy i.e. using tech to compensate (can't carry load, invent wheel). Also Tali stated in ME1 that the war was "long and bloody" before they were ultimately forced from their colonies. It is unknown how long this was but it sounds as if they fought very hard to try to stop it.
The codex in ME1 also states that the geth were built for both service and war. It seems that our Quarian friends had designs on galactic dominance. This can be herd in conversations with Admiral Xen on the Rayya (then in her e-mail to you).
One thing that strikes me as strange, Tali says in ME1 that 100s of millions die in the war with the geth. Assuming they had one big homeworld and several colonies why was their population so low? Shouldn't it be billions? If only 17 million survive in the fleet where did the rest go?

She turned around to face him and giggled.
“Ah Shepard, the hero of Eden Prime, the savior of the Citadel...You can conquer all can’t you? Yet you can’t even conquer your own bed.”
“We’ll see about that.” Shepard replied getting off the couch.
“You’re going to have to fight me for it.” She replied.

Given their unique immune systems and 'adaptment' needed to truly thrive on any worlds that they found it wouldent surprise me that Quarian expansion was much slower compared to that of other races. Could have been another reason to build the Geth; Ensures that you have a force to enforce your claims on worlds that you couldent have a sizeable population on during adaption periods.

Remember that those Geth were in fact Heretics whom are estimated to only account for 5% of all Geth in the galaxy. In other words: Organic galactic society has only faced the appetizer.
That said, I do not believe it impossible for organics to defeat the Geth in a toe-to-toe fight. It will be bloody, destructive and expensive in both lives and resources but it can be done. While organics are less efficient they are also less predictable and able to summon inspiration and inner strength that can allow them to turn a seemingly losing battle to their advantage. Imagination can trumph logic at times (and vice versa). Heck, cure the genophage and you could release the Krogan horde part 2 on the Geth (if the Krogans are wililng to play along, then again they love a good battle and might see it as an opportunity to take revenge on the galaxy afterwards - better keep a new genophage weapon primed and ready Council). Even without the Krogan it should be possible to defeat the Geth. The Quarians on their own however do not have the logistical network nor the resources to engage in prolonged "trench warfare".
