Remember that those Geth were in fact Heretics whom are estimated to only account for 5% of all Geth in the galaxy. In other words: Organic galactic society has only faced the appetizer.

Later that night...

“Tali...” Shepard shifted uncomfortably on the couch. “Tali...”
“What?” She hissed under her breath, not bothering to turn around to face Shepard.
“I’m sorry.” He pouted innocently, hoping for some attention.
She turned around to face him and giggled.
“Ah Shepard, the hero of Eden Prime, the savior of the Citadel...You can conquer all can’t you? Yet you can’t even conquer your own bed.”
“We’ll see about that.” Shepard replied getting off the couch.
“You’re going to have to fight me for it.” She replied.
“Looking forward to it.”

Awesome sauce.

They are tech heavy i.e. using tech to compensate (can't carry load, invent wheel). Also Tali stated in ME1 that the war was "long and bloody" before they were ultimately forced from their colonies. It is unknown how long this was but it sounds as if they fought very hard to try to stop it.

The codex in ME1 also states that the geth were built for both service and war. It seems that our Quarian friends had designs on galactic dominance. This can be herd in conversations with Admiral Xen on the Rayya (then in her e-mail to you).

One thing that strikes me as strange, Tali says in ME1 that 100s of millions die in the war with the geth. Assuming they had one big homeworld and several colonies why was their population so low? Shouldn't it be billions? If only 17 million survive in the fleet where did the rest go?

Ca. 1% of Quarians survived the Morning War. Billions were killed. The possibility of some Quarians unleashing a synthetic army has occured to me and the possibility concerns me. That said, I'm not convinced at all that admiral Xen represents anything approaching a majority of Quarians' view on the matter.

They tell me you're dead.

Part of me doesn't believe it, refuses to believe it. But the other part of me saw the Normandy explode. I watched it all, from the tiny little porthole window in the escape pod. So close, and yet so far away. Close enough to imagine for just one second that I could have saved you. We saw the final pod jettison, and when the Alliance frigates came to collect us I was so sure that you would be on it, with Joker. I was so sure, Shepard.

But I was wrong. Joker said he saw you get thrown out into space. There's a part of me that knows you must be dead. The engineer in me, the part that knows that a Hughes-Mystromm Field Converter will always run thirty percent hotter under load and it doesn't care how much you wish for it not to. Physics is an unforgiving master, Shepard.

But I still dream. I still hope. Hope was all we had left in those few final days before Ilos. Hope was the gift you gave to us. You taught us how to hope again. All of us. Garrus, Joker, everyone on the Normandy. There was no hope. Not really. Not after we learned what Soverign was. What the Reapers were. What we faced. It was no surprise that Saren accepted his fate. How can one fight a god? But you gave us that hope. Your absolute refusal to give up, to stop, to roll over and die.

You humans have a saying. Where there's life, there's hope. Until I traveled with you to Ilos and fought beside you on the Citadel I never truly understood that. But I understand now. In order to have a change of fortunes at the last minute, you must push your fortunes to the last minute. I still hope, Shepard. I know there can be none, but still I hope. You taught me that.

You will never read this letter. Just know that in the heart of this one small, insignificant Quarian traveler you will never be forgotten. All of the things I wanted to say that were unsaid between us. All of the things I wanted to do that were not done. They will exist here, always, as will you.

I love you. I did not realize how much until it was too late. Too late for us. But maybe not too late for hope.

Come back to me, Shepard.

I'm still hoping.

Pretty much. I mean, we have to assume that the Geth have been:

A) Repairing the damage done to the Quarian worlds

B) Preparing for what they would see as the inevitable Quarian invasion into their space.

For all we know they could have hundreds of Dreadnaught class ships just waiting outside their Relay just for someone to try and invade.

I don't consider the Quarians wimps and I'd be happy to have them as allies. I do not expect them to do the "heavy lifting" in combat operations however (with fleet engagements being the possible exception, yet even there refurbished civilian ships are not going to be able to match warships specifically designed and built for the purpose of war pound-for-pound). They'd be invaluable as tech experts.

The codex states that they have hundreds of war ships, purpose built war ones. The migrant fleet is a huge target, they take fleet security very seriously. Multiple souces confirm that they have a powerful fleet, especially now after the destruction of the citadel fleet
