Only thing I don't like is that white block at the top. It ruins it for me. You can see the straight line of it right above tali. Someone needs to fix that.Jake71887 wrote...

That's true. But now, establishing that it's present on at least some of their ships, and would, by extension, be something they've seen working, they could place it on their own ships. We've seen more than a few Quarians that have omni-tools, and a Haptic interface is a much less compact and complex omni-tool.
possibly, but I'd wager that with their scarcity of resources it's unlikely... And I doubt a Haptic system is less complex than an omni tool

A haptic system is a new interface for a computer. An omni-tool is a micro-computer with a haptic interface and a fabrication system.
So... yes? Haptic is a piece of an omni-tool, so it would stand to reason that the piece alone is less complex than an item composed of piece + others.

Is this supposition, or is there more to the codex quote that you didn't post?

A Haptic interface is a hologram that substitutes as an input.
"Omni-tools are handheld devices that combine a computer microframe, sensor analysis pack, and manufacturing fabricator. Versatile and reliable, an omni-tool can be used to analyze and adjust the functionality of most standard equipment, including weapons and armor, from a distance. The fabrication module can rapidly assemble small three-dimensional objects from common, reusable industrial plastics, ceramics, and light alloys. This allows for field repairs and modifications to most standard items, as well as the reuse of salvaged equipment. Omni-tools are standard issue for soldiers and first-in colonists"
And this is the codex entry for an Omni-tool. If you look at an omni-tool, it is interfaced with via a holographic touch screen that appears above the arm. Thus, the computer micro-frame on an Omni-tool would be using a Haptic Interface.

Somewhat. The way a haptic device works is it replaces parts of software and parts of hardware as well. It directly interfaces with the computer through a tactile method of accessing and using data.
Essentially, it turns most computers in to an Apple product.
So you would need to know programming to program a computer, but not necessarily an OS, as the way the computer is interacted with is fundamentally different.
