Aw. No.
Speaking of the Collectors, I actually feel a pang of sympathy near the end of ME2 when you see the Collector General being abandoned carelessly by Harbinger as the Collector Base explodes. It just looks resigned to its fate. Yeah, it's a disgusting looking bug creature and yet it manages to convey a human emotion. Poor Protheans. No one deserves such a horrific fate, IMO.
Pfff. Giant ginger cockroaches. Send them all to Hades is what I say
I'm not saying I don't advocate killing them, yet one can still feel a measure of sympathy or empathy for someone or something whose life one is about to end.

I dunno, I persecute a lot of people so it's hard to tell. Would you like me to burn you at the stake, or would you prefer the dreamless sleep of the lethal injection?

Whilst I'd be lying if I said I disagreed, it's a lot easier being indifferent.

A diametrically opposite reaction to mine, whereupon I punched the air, gesticulated at the television screen and shouted, "Extinction completed. Shepherd prevails. "

Truth is, I believe that the Collector general experienced true freedom from Harbinger's presence for the first time in centuries, if not in his entire lifetime.
And he knew why.
His one little gesture conveyed as much tragedy to me as finding out about the Protheans' fate in the first place.
No-one deserves what the reapers did to them <_<

Not entirely. I felt a rush of exhilaration and a sense of accomplishment upon watching that son-of-a-**** of an organic paste churning base blown to smithereens, but the moment just before final destruction went as previously described. Conflicting emotions perhaps, yet there it is.
