The lady who's slandered ME had a book out, after her negative review her book was attacked on all the sites it was sold from (amazon, etc) and got awful reviews by the truck load.

I doubt anyone else is willing to suffer a hit to their wallet like she took. Plus they don't look at forums for proof of such behavior.

The news didn't know bosh'tet about it. All they saw was the sex scene and though omg you can chose what you wanted to do wile they had sex. They described it as graphic. When a game expert said it wasn't even like that, its just flashes of like afew secs of sex and they don't show anything. The news is retarded like that, they didn't take is word for it. They never even played the game and judged it.

I think what made me laugh to tear is when the Fox announcer lady said she "played the game a lil"  i was like "yeah right you probably figuring how "not" to walk into a wall the whole time"

I know i made my mom try a video game once and it was hilarious

Dragon age isn't nearly as good a game as BG2. ME2 comes close but the lack of banter and party exchange kills it.
Dragon age had no villian. The blight is an unstoppable force, it has no motives, no personality. Unlike Irenicus, and the extreamly clever design by the writers to have the Bhaalspawn taint take his form to increase his presence even still.

Dragonage's loot=Horrible scaling and completely boring progression. Infact....bioware games typically suck at loot. Even as far back as KOTOR, loot has been boring as hell, bg2 probally is the only exception.
BG2 Loot was signiciantly more fun to find and acquire.
Dragonage combat=CC the mages, aoe CC/Tank the fighters, kill. Every pack is the exact same. Sure you CAN do things differently by why? Not CCing the mage leaves them open to CC you and not tanking/ccing the melee/archer pack ensures your squishies are going to die due to sheer numerical damage values. BG2 combat varies greatly depending on your party and what you're fighting.

Morrigan is a ****, there is no depth to her personality. She claims to favor strength and survival of the fittist, but she goes out of her way to ****** people off and then acts like she doesn't care about them. There is no appeal to her except her beauty, she's not even interesting, she hates flemeth but seems bent on becomming exactly like her even if she doesn't get possesed by her

I would argue the Viconia depth comparison, but I have too much nostolgia in the way to be able to stand unbiasedly by the comparison, but from a mechanics and story point of view BG2 is a better game.

BG2 also didn't have damn memory leaks and constant crashes at release.

BG2 combat was 19 times of 20 a silly excercise in tiptoeing towards the enemy an inch at a time so you only activated them one or two at a time. That was often a total immersion breaker for me. It was worse in BG1, but still a problem in BG2.

I won't argue about loot as I have already explained that I don't care all that much about loot and inventory anyway. That's why Mass Effect is so great. I can concede that there isn't all that much party banter in Mass Effect, but then again, the amount of party banter in BG2 wasn't that great either. Party banter in Dragon Age is vastly superior to BG2 both in terms of how much there is in the game, and the quality of it. BG2 had two decent and one horrible romance, but no real interaction
with the companions compared to both Dragon Age and Mass Effect, where
you can talk a lot with all companions regardless of if you are romancing
them or not.

I have the same nostalgia issues with Viconia, and in a way she made a bigger impact on me than Morrigan, but i still contend that Morrigan is much better written than Viconia or any other "bad girl" Bioware have ever written, if you peel away the nostalgia.

And Mass Effect has Tali, which ought to say it all...

probably too early for me to try something simply complex XD

Oh, before I lose my train of through...and it's derailing quick...It would be awesome if they would just carry everything over to ME3 for the final fight with the Reapers.  If there are any other old fogeys out there that remember the Star Wars Trilogy, I think of Mass Effect set up the same way.  Tali being the oh so wonderful Princess Leia...but alot blessed cuter *ahem* and Shepard being the debonaire Han Solo. (Shameless pop culture plug, so sue me XD), ME1 the start up.  Tali just in the background being the cute Pilgrimage Quarian, Shepard off to save the galaxy.  ME2, the spark starts up! Both still unsure.  ME3, let freedom ring and let the real intrest take hold!  Plus ME3 being like Return of the Jedi, the most epic battle there is.  ANd IF those of you who romanced Tali, just have that LI be full blown.  Or whoever took a specific LI.   Don't let the decisions die like in ME 1.  PLEASE KEEP TALI IN FOR ME3!

I am suprised Bioware has not given us the heart wrenching scene where you hear a crack and a hissing sound and then Tali screaming in near panic, "Shepard!" Then you see her faceplate got cracked and is getting worst. It is like a rush against the clock to get her somewhere safe before her suit is heavily breached. Probably knocking her out for a few missions till she recovers.

Probably be on the edge of my seat the whole time... I really should stop giving Bioware ideas.....

Hi. I am newbie here and my English skill is not strong due to the fact that I am a citizen

of an underdeveloped country in SEA. Anyway, I just want to say that I love Tali as much as you all love her in this forum but I am aware that our excessive love will make some of the developers have a bad attitude toward our beloved Tali which will ultimately cause the disappearance of Tali in ME3.

My suspicious comes from the fact that Stanley Woo, a person who shut out thread, only mention that he is going to shut the topic without giving any respect to our opinion.

Sorry for some grammatical mistake

I would like this idea...but it endangers Tali. I go out of my way to keep Tali -from- harm even during the suicide mission, Legion gets to go through the pipes.

Ya, you guys now hit about 120 pages a day easy.
But now I am wondering if there was really a raffle going on amongst the Bioware mods in when 2.0 was shut down. I mean, I thought it was pretty miraculous that they allowed the thread to grow as large as it did. Probably to see when it finally got noticed by someone with a "nuke" button.

Too bad none of the Bioware peeps can't  in on the more serious discussions, otherwise it would have been alot more fun.

You can tip toe in Dragonage too. Few encounters are truly linked(and BG2 had linked encounters as well)
I like loot when done well. It was done well in BG2...it was done ok in Kotor...and it's gotten worse ever since.
Actually BG2 had a ton of banter, and alot of it was a great deal more meaningful then DA:O banter was.
Keldorn eventually having enough to do with Viconia, Haer'Dalis wooing Aerie and challenging you for her, the romance cat fights. Jan Freaking Jansen and Minsc are way funnier then Alistar ever was(though Ohgren's drunk rants in camp do come close)

Of course DA had more, it came after, in a time when voice conversation in video games is a small chunk of the space requirement of a given game, back then voice over work was very rare, especially of the quality and quantity of BG2

But mostly BG2 had a better story. It had better side quests. Lord Jierdan Firekrag > Killing some darkspawn in some fields somewhere after reading about it on a bulletin board.
Dragon age you're fighting a Blight with no personal stake in the matter. The closest human element in your struggle if Loghain, who isn't really a bad guy, simply misguided and arrogant.

I'll have to replay BG2 to reevaluate the Viconia romance, but I am not impressed by MOrrigane, even if she is the best bad girl romance, she's 1  of 3. Jack is pushing it even, as she's more of a broken toy then a bad girl.

To...add to the OP.

If ME2 had better party interactions and chr banter...it would of topped BG2 as the best rpg and my favorite game of all time. As it stands it's #2.

And tali is my favorite romance option in any video game ever and only 2nd to Aribeth in potential appeal.

Does that mean we get an Ewok victory party?
