Hi Jake! 'Tis a fine enough Friday night, although there have been some disturbances in here tonight. IMO, we are on the brink of a "civil war" within the Talimance camp. Now some might say I shouldn't even utter such things for risk of fanning the flames further, yet my intent is not to incite anyone but merely call it as I see it. A handful of Tali fans feel this thread is derailed and disrespectful towards Tali due to various pictures and off-topic conversation pieces. One amongst them has threatened to create the next Tali thread with his own rules (which are not official in any way or capacity since that's BioWare's turf). I for one will not be joining any Tali thread that tries to establish a despotic atmosphere. I can appreciate their intentions and I have felt their frustrations in the past in different threads, but on this occasion I feel they are misguided in their approach at attempting to rein things in. They are not our masters and I will not serve at their beck and call. If that means a split in our Tali camp then so be it.
On that note, should such a split come to pass is there anyone here who has the IT knowledge, desire and time to create a new OP with all the current material once this thread crashes or is shut down?

I think we are a hair's breadth away from it. All that needs to happen now is for one side or the other to provoke the other and things are going to unravel. Fast. Based on the emotional state I witnessed earlier I expect it will be the Talimancers that want an austere and puritanical Tali thread that will jump the gun first. They seemed more bothered by events than many of us in this more laissez faire camp.

In principle I agree, yet if some of our number are deeply troubled and upset by the behaviour by the rest of us, and they then try to force their interpretation of how things "should be" upon everyone - wanted or not, perhaps it would be better for both factions to have their separate threads. That way we could each carry on with business the way we each prefer and even strike up a cordial relationship with each other as fellow Tali fans. Having a place to call one's own and being able to return to it makes it easier to tolerate others having their own place where things may be done differently.
