Indeed. I find Ashley's xenophobia, if not outright racism distasteful and there wasn't really any Liara dialogue that suggested that I was more than just some link to the Protheans for her.

Miranda and Jack don't want Shep. They need him to fix their own emotional problems. Tali wants to be in his life. Big difference.

I played ME1 through 9 times with all the same choices with the SAME character even BEFORE ME2 was released.  Now I have played it through 11 times (for male Shepard for Tali in ME2).

Yeah. I managed to do the other LI's ONCE. Now any time I try to change it up, I end up just saying f**k it, and end up with Tali.

The only time I came close to romancing ANYONE else was my first playthrough, and that was only because I didn't know Tali was an option until Kelly mentioned it to me. When she finally told me, there were 2 distinct thudding noises.

1. Jaw hitting desk
2. Miranda getting booted on her gentically-enhanced ass

I just wanted to see if

1. Jack's story arch wouldn't go exactly as i thought it would....it did.

2. If there was more to Miranda than T and A....there wasn't.

Never romanced Kelly. Zero interest there. lol

She was probably brought up under the influence that all the Geth wanted was destruction and extermination of the Quarians, also that there are no good Geth. Probably got it from her father.

I played through ME1 way too often too. Makes it that much harder to go back to it to do another complete playthrough, just to go romanceless for Tali. Couldn't get myself to start it yet. I'm borderline scared of the old combat system, and all the dialogue I know by heart by now anyways... at least the dialogue can be skipped, the combat and side missions not so much.

Sure, but I would like to "convince" her that the Geths aren't so evil. 

Although she seems to get it a bit, if you calm her down in the conflict with Legion.

Jack is sympathetic once you get her to drop the uber **** shield, IMO. She has a pretty face but she's ruined her body with all those scars, tattoos, etc. for me to find her truly attractive.

And then there's Tali'Zorah (save the best for last eh?). What more is there to say than she is quite possibly the embodiment of all the traits I desire in a female partner. She is in effect (no pun intended) "perfect" accepting that "true perfection" may not be a realistic result in a physical universe. <3

Personally I find that Liara has about the same sex appeal to me as wet, bland cardboard. She's nice enough in ME1 but seems to be spiralling in to a much seedier and unforgiving world and way of life in ME2....And do they not know how to cap teeth in the 22nd Century?!
