I have a feeling one of the writers really like the quarians. Whoever wrote ME: Ascension. Which makes me feel good about our chances of getting more tali in ME3.

Yeah, who didn't?  The options as far as I see are you kill him then, or he comes at you later with a more formidable force.  You don't really think letting you walk without trying to stop you is an option for him do you?  He'll be killed by someone else if he does that.

So what was his reason for basically daring you to actually push you out the window?  Did he think you were bluffing or something?  He knows you just killed dozens of other mercs to get to him, does he think you won't hurt him?  If he really wanted to live, he could've passed off some fake info or begged or something.  He couldn't have tried to get himself killed more unless he jumped out the window himself. 

As far as actually letting him go, I've never actually done that, so I don't know what happens, but I can't see how it's a good decision to let him go.  The Mass Effect universe is very clear with mercs, they will kill anyone (like the innocent salarian workers) for money, and the more of them you kill, the better.

I still don't like how the heartless Renegade moves are mixed with the baddass ones
Example: killing the Krogan whos ranting about killing the galaxy is pretty badass, but giving the evidence and killing Tali's fathers reputation is heartless. I would waste the krogan in a heartbeat, but never trun in the eveidence, especially after Tali asked me not to

I test a lot of "interrupt moments" via a judicious use of quick saves and quick loads. Activating the Renegade interrupt on Tuchanka when carrying out Mordin's loyalty mission, I experienced...unease and sympathy when I heard the Krogan's screaming as he burned alive. A horrible death - not nearly quick enough given the amount of pain involved. Furthermore, I was not untouched by his speech when he says, "You understand nothing human! You haven't seen the piles of stillborn young....". That line hits me. I understand why he's trying to cure the genophage. I would probably try and do the same if I were in his position. I'm torn over the use of the genophage. There's clear historical evidence that the Krogan were not, and perhaps still aren't, advanced enough culturally to keep themselves in check. They have a right to exist yet so do all the other sentient species providing they can more or less behave themselves. IMO, the Krogan need a few more thousand years on their own to develop or die out entirely. As they are now as a species they are too dangerous if not kept in check by cruel means such as the genophage.

I hate that the genophage was used. That it exists. Yet I can not in good conscience ignore the very real possibility of history repeating itself if the Krogans once more start reproducing at their natural rate (which used to be kept in check on their homeworld by voracious predators). I would like to find a better balancing act than the genophage however.
