It's a japanization.  I thought it was for "waif", but wiki says it is for "wife":

"When Tomo finds a picture of his wife and asks who she is, he replies, in heavily accented English, "Mai waifu" ("Mein wife" in the English translation). "Mai waifu", sometimes shortened to just waifu, has since become a catchphrase among anime fans referring to a female character they find appealing."

So, it's not as creepy as it sounds.  Well, the pic is, but the "waifu" reference isn't.  At least, it's not as creepy as it looks at first glance.

But it's a little creepy...

I didn't know either, google says they're sleeping pills, apparently used as a "date rape" drug sometimes.

Its interesting how the artist made it, its like a mixture of a few styles and its very dark, which is unique to many tali pics

This is one of my favorite images of her, and a really good piece of art.

"Art" isn't about how accurately you can produce details, it's about conveying emotion and feeling. This image does that exceedingly well.

P.S.  Ruffies is a date rape drug.

Ruffles is a brand of 'potato chip' made by pressing scraps from other potato processing together.


So if Shepard is making Tali eat Ruffles, it's still disgusting but not as much.
