Turians lack the flexibility (ha!) in their faces. They don't have eyebrows to frown or lips to pout. You can only 'read the sadness' by observing their body language and listening to the tone of their voices. Although I don't know if the latter is a turian thing or  hidden praise for their VA's .

Examples: Garrus rejection and Sidonis.

Tali doing the Shepard shuffle?

Would be easy enough to do for those that use mods to "play as" Garrus.  Just get FRAPS or what not to capture the vid and make a gif.

Man. BW is amazing with the facial expressions. He really does look anguished. It's the whole body language too, of course. But that's a great example.

I agree, especially when his eyes are wide open, just feeling that Shepard could be gone. I imagined Garrus to look exactly like this after Shepard died from the Normandy Attack.

When you can't see even one of a turian's teeth, he's upset.

eta:  Ok, I can see teeth.  But I had to look for them.  They're certainly less apparent than in the "neutral expression" or happy pics.

No, my job in painting the house was telling people what to do and smoke cigarettes on the balcony. We had some green and pink paint leftovers and my cousins came up with the idea. Sure, why not. Going to the bathroom is a happy experience now

Also, Garrus guards it.
