FINALLYYY!! Can't wait to play a piece of ME2 again. Sweeeeet.

Also, darkspawn/Garrus comic.

Cerry:  Please, for the love of Garrus, change your Avi back. It's giving me the creeps.

So the Turians are Roman space Raptors right?

Does that mean that they can adapt new tech as fast as the Romans?

Because if true the Reapers are f*cked.

Well... they got the Thannix Canon off Sovereign within two years... so... yes?

Well, Anderson says that turians remind him of the evolutionary link between birds and dinosaurs in Revelation. I'm not sure where the comparison to Romans comes in. (Is it a fan-made comparison, or something BioWare/one of the characters mentioned?)

Quickly adapting new tech is definitely true though. Hopefully the turians will help out against the Reapers.

Yes they can, and since garrus is about 100 times better then the average turian, the reapers are even more ****ed.

At least there was a reason for all those calibrations. xD

Names like Septimus seem plus Turian military culture seem to indicate the Romans as inspiration. I haven't actually read anything directly indicating that from Bioware themselves though - just fan made comparison.

Actually, the asari are more Roman. The turians seem more Spartan.

That's about what I guessed. A lot of turian names do sound Latin. I haven't really tried to compare their culture with humans that much.

The similarities between Asari - Athenians and Turians - Spartans is uncanny. Asari are more peace-loving, consensus building, while Turians are the ones with the large, disciplined armies and being the public service driven species.

If Turians are Spartans...can we make Garrus King Leonidas? Pretty please? His badassery warrants it! :D

Also, I thought Sidonis was his first name. xD I didn't save him either.

I did, because I couldn't stand to see him get shot in the back while he was running away like that, but then I found out that if you let him make this whole long speech before getting out of the way, Garrus gets a perfect headshot.  I'm definitely doing that next time.

This makes sense to me.

you specifically made the decision not to recruit Garrus, then you're
not the person he trusts most in this screwed up galaxy. You're new to
him. An admirable human maybe, but not a close friend.

Exactly.  My respect for this game just went up some more. :)

Same for my next playthrough. MaleShep want to "interrogate" Sidonis first. >:D

I just have to look up that scene on youtube to make sure I don't let him go by mistake.

Excellent news, Clan V! My replacement hard drive arrived today! I may begin making and posting ridiculous pictures yet again!

Now, if you'll all excuse me, this evening is dedicated to swapping the drives and then installing Windows 7 all over again. Toodles!

Hi Andaius!  We just had a quite interesting discussion a few pages ago as to whether or not turians pry off their old scales with a knife (that was based on another thread Pacifien started).  Then we talked about the startling fact that if you don't recruit Garrus in ME1, and import your game, the game doesn't let you romance him, but if you don't import a game into ME2, the game does let you romance him--insinuating that the default is Garrus recruitment in ME1.  Yeah, we think about this stuff way too much probably. :P

Congrats Lemonwizard!  I too know the joy of new hardware.  "Exhilarating, isn't it?" (ME1 quote haha) :wizard:

Spartans, romans, athenians... I say, turians are very turian-y. I have zero knowledge of old history. History wasn't really my favourite subject in school :P

I feel guilty for saying this, but American history bores me to tears. :P (as an American, I sorta feel like I should care...meh)

I'd rather study turian history any day. :)

That is good news, Lemonwizard. :) When you get Mass Effect installed again, take screenshots!

I would like to read about more turian history too, specifically the First Contact War (but that's mostly because I want more information about Saren and his brother).

I would also like to know more about the first contact war - A few people have also mentioned that it might make for an interesting movie. What do you folks think?
