It's usually Zaeed when I play though it, and to me he sounds genuinely concerned. Jacob doesn't last long in my games...

I usually bring Zaeed along as well, but before I got him via DLC, it was Jacob who got to say that line (or something similar). Never brought Mordin along for it, but I'd bet he'd be the one to say  "Chance of survival highly unlikely".

Yeah, Zaeed surprised me when I brought him along for Jack's loyalty mission too.  He sounds genuinely appalled at what we find at Telton.  "Wow, he's not just some trigger happy heartless merc?"

Edit:  Anyone else get up early this morning all excited about the Overlord DLC... only to realize that you still have to wait 24 more  hours? /sigh

A lot of the dialog on missions is squad mates is saying the same thing is different ways. I sent Jacob to stay with Garrus and for whatever reason Jacob didn't sound too happy. Jacob can be a grump sometimes.

I didn't really get concerned from Zaeed in that exchange, but it has been a long time since I played through it. He sounded to me exactly like you'd expect Zaeed to sound in that situation; matter-of-fact because he's watched a hundred men he knew better than this guy bleed out, a little tired because you still never get used being unable to do anything about it.

I'll have to listen again when I decide on my next playthrough, but I really heard a sense of "He's not gonna make it - let's get going before the little fish show up to scavenge" out of him.

I'll have to try him out on Jack's loyalty mission - I usually take them out together anyway, seems like they'd get along, but the last playthrough was a turian's-got-my-back run (uh, duh :D). Jack's the last person to be offended by being called a 'destructive little ****' and Zaeed's not really looking for more friends.

Of course it could just be me projecting my feelings onto Zaeed's dialogue XD

Maybe I like to think Zaeed would give a damn about Garrus because they're both badasses?

I've actually heard Miranda pipe up in that one before and say, "He's not going to make it."

Must be random.

Anywhoodles, I got dibs on 4th of July Garrus! It's close enough to my birthday XD (Plus, I get a feeling screen shot modding a birthday Garrus would be way to distracting XD)

Alex- the only thing that bogs me down totally when it comes to the meme is technical details. I'm still a PS noob, so when I try to switch up brushes or do something because I want X look, I can get pretty frustrated because the program does what I tell it to do and it doesn't read my mind and do what I want it to do :P

Also, it's over at Clan V >.>

Sounds familiar. I keep forgetting which brush to use for what. I should probably read a tutorial or something but I'm too stubborn. Must... find out... myself...

I've found an entire collection of useful PS brushes. I especially like the skin texture brushes. They're just so damn useful when drawing...well, anything with skin, really.

Thanks for that. Didn't know you could download brushes. /n00b

I miss the 'turian plating' brushes though :P

I didn't even remember any of the squadmates saying, "He's not going to make it." I guess I was too focused on Garrus, even though I knew he was going to live because I read all the spoilers. Zaeed's not in my game anyway, so it would have been either Jacob or Miranda for me. I looked it up on youtube though (for anyone who wants to watch it without replaying the game - www.youtube.com/watch - Zaeed's line at 6:41), and I think Christmas Ape's description is the most accurate. At least, that's the impression I got when he said it.

This also might be the first time I've heard Zaeed's voice... It's not what I expected. xD

My MainShep told Jacob to stay with Garrus because she didn't trust Miranda. MaleShep will do the same in his playthrough. "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer." Until MaleShep gets too paranoid to stay close at the end.

It would be strange if you didn't get at least a little paranoid living on Normandy 2...

No I never paid enough attention to remember what the squadmates said about wounded Garrus either. The poor turian had all my attention.

My MaleShep takes his paranoia to extremes. xD His suicide mission will end with a dead Miranda and crew, and a destroyed Collector base. Then he'll go get drunk at Dark Star thinking, "Cerberus is after me. I have no allies against the Reapers. What have I done?" It'll be interesting to see how ME3 plays out for him.

It's a good thing Garrus is still alive. MaleShep is a Sole Survivor. Watching teammates die on Cerberus missions is becoming a little too common for him.

You know I'd love a moment for shep and the team to actually spill some drinks together ^_^. She already did it with chakwas and I adored that scene, it would be nice to see the gang spend a bit of time together before they face the reaper fleet. It would be funny, nostalgic, heart warming and sad too, especially if they acknowledge that this could be their last day. It would be very sweet if the crew surprised shepard with a toast dedicated to her, useually shepard is the one making all the speeches so it would show how much they respect their commander

I kind of want a moment like you have before facing the Archdemon in DA:O. Having your squaddies tell you they value your friendship and then wishing you good luck in the final battle was really awesome.

A toast to Shepard would have been adorable. :) I have a lot of Shepards who don't approve of drinking too close to a mission though, and would choose the option with Chakwas that basically says to wait and have a drink when it's all over. Or some of them will have one drink, but nothing strong and not too much of it. It was surprising and kind of funny to see the screen get that swaying effect after Shepard's drink with Chakwas. Apparently, Shepard had too much. xD This MaleShep is the type who would normally go by the "don't drink too much" rule, but he really needed to calm his nerves a little after finding out he works with Cerberus now.

Drinking with the squad?

I want to see drunk Mordin hitting on drunk Chakwas. Now THAT'd be epic.

/grabs flame shield

Mordin-flirting aside, drinking with your squad would be nice.

Nah, someone on Masskink already did it.

Don't let the Masskink link fool you BTW, the fic is smutless (it's just flirting) and actually pretty cute.

Wow, so I guess a lot of people think of getting the crew drunk. xD I wonder why it wasn't an option to take them drinking on the Citadel after the suicide mission though. Jacob wanted to "spill some drinks on the Citadel", right? (Maybe I'll manage to get that quote on my next playthrough. MaleShep won't have annoying flirty lines whenever he talks to Jacob.)

Flirty Mordin would lose interest about halfway. Salarians and their fast emotional processing, y'know Image IPB

"My, Dr Chakwas, has anybody ever told you what lovely--right, must go, much to be done."

And yeah, I always have Zaeed piping up about Garrus not making it after the gunship. I'd love to see what other teammembers have to say, but that would imply *waiting* to get Garrus. Besides, I don't want to bring either Mordin or Jacob along, because I always feel like Garrus needs a non-squishy with him (and Zaeed's about as non-squishy as you can get, besides Grunt). So yeah, it's always Zaeed, and I actually was surprised that he did sound affected by it: maybe not quite concerned, but certainly "aw crap, another dead body".

Of course, this particular "not wanting to wait" mindset led to my MaleShep and Miranda scraping through the base by the skin of their teeth on Insanity...I could've at least waited to get Grunt before I tried, but noooo...

This also led to Garrus actually DYING during the last stretch before the gunship (when they stat storming from downstairs): he insisted on standing in a window. Cue dramatic "NNNNOOOOOOOO" and reload...The next time I just stuck Miranda and Zaeed at the windows so that they'd prevent Garrus from moving there. Worked like a charm. Silly suicidal turian Image IPB

I took Grunt and Jack with me once. The extra scene you get with Garm when Grunt is with you is badass. Jack says something like "Hope you didn't need that guy..." when Garrus gets shot. I forgot the exact line.

Now who wants a Garrus eye closeup?

Mordin leaving mid-flirt. xD Imagine the disappointment. "Really? Mordin's a romance option? Victory is mine! Wait, no -- where's he going?!"

What happens when Garrus dies before the gunship scene happens? He's not dead for real, is he? I was only playing on Casual, so I had no trouble keeping Garrus alive. My Shepard though... I had to reload several times during his recruitment mission.

I was wondering if my MaleShep should recruit Grunt and Jack before going to Omega so he can take them instead. He has good reasons for both... go to Omega first even though that would be following Cerberus' advice because he really doesn't know what else to do, or recruit some squadmates that he would probably be comfortable around first (yeah, MaleShep likes krogans and criminals).

Why taking Grunt to the Archangel mission is awesome in a disturbing way:

If you've got the DLC, Miranda and Zaeed should work for the recruiting mission. Dunno if you really need Jack, but Grunt's fun to bring along for the burning bodies are making him hungry line (forget the exact wording, but it is on Youtube).
