*spoiler if you haven't finished the game*
If Joker's bones are hollow, how the heck is he shooting what appears to be a lot more than a mere pistol (SMG?) when you're running to the ship WITHOUT shattering his arms?
*end spoiler*
There, that was driving me nuts earlier. Not that having asked that will assure that I'll sleep for more than 3 hours tonight (I basically never do now), but at least it will be out of my head.
Amara Shepard: "Let's enjoy this beautiful moment in front of my... well let's ignore the critters floating at the top, all right?"

Garrus: "We all know how *my* visor is staying on my head, but did Jack just glue those shades on, or what?"

Unless I completely misremember the conversation in ME1, it's only the bones in his legs that are "basically hollow". I think the "Watch the arm!" from the cockpit escape is just a case of Shepard going all Marine-strength on her poor pilot - and possibly pinching flesh with the seams in hardsuit gloves. If Joker's bones are hollow, how the heck is he shooting what appears to be a lot more than a mere pistol (SMG?) when you're running to the ship WITHOUT shattering his arms?

I think he has brittle bone disease from memory, which would apply to his whole body. When he crashes the ship into the base he make a comment along the lines of "I've broken a rib...hang on, I think I've broken all of them". Hence the old 'watch the arm' bit when Shep is dragging his but out of danger.
This is why I loved the fact that he was there with a gun at the end, doing his bit and putting his own safety aside to help the rest of the crew. They were risking their lives, so what are a few stress fractures between friends? Gotta love Joker
Oh, and Garrus:wub:

I'm amazed nobody else broke anything, given the Normandy slows from several hundred kph to zero in three or four seconds. Hardly surprised the pilot up front suffered some chest compression against the restraints.
And...he's a pilot. He's practically an office worker who was taught how to fire a gun. Shepard is a Marine Commander in a hurry - I just think she wasn't very gentle with him.

Now I have to go back and recruit Liara last, after Virmire. That solution will work for sure, right? There's no way the romance can start that late in the game? I'll see if I can find a save right after Feros. Luckily, Therum was the second mission I did... but I had to start overwriting the saves, so I'm not sure if that's possible. I might have to go back as far as the end of Eden Prime (I make sure to keep all of the saves right before Saren's scenes).
And, because I'm keeping this Shepard in character, I have to watch him call my favorite character a tool, ruthless bastard, and all of that for a second time. D: (For anyone who doesn't like Saren... just imagine Shepard saying all of that to Garrus, or whoever your favorite is. It's not fun.) I did get to see him tell the Council to go to hell though. That was amusing.
Now that the mini-rant is done... the thing with Joker is either awesome cut-scene powers that don't happen in-game, or Shepard wasn't the only one getting those Cerberus bone weave upgrades. And I see Garrus Vakarian answered my question from a few pages back. xD

I am amazed that no one else was hurt too, until I saw the youtubage of unloyal/unupgraded collision and then realised "oh, so that's when they get 'hurt'". Then I wished I'd never seen it =(

I know!!!! Part of me wishes that "Garrus
Vakarian" was BK droppin' on in to see his fans. I know it is not
likely, but I like to dream...[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]
@Kim Are you still trying to dodge Liara? Good luck with that. Same thing happened with me and Kaidan, so I nuked him. I don't know how being nice = I want to jump you - but, apparently in ME galaxy, it does! I felt bad for a few moments when he was vaporised but then looked at Garrus and it was allllll okay

At this point, it's more like failing. D: But I read somewhere that the Liara romance doesn't have time to start up if she's recruited after Virmire, so I'm going to try that next. I still have to replay at least three major missions and all of the side quests in between, possibly even all four main missions if I had to overwrite too many saves for space.Rebe70 wrote...

The thing is... my MaleShep wasn't even nice to Liara. At all. Before and after he said he wasn't interested, he said some things that should really make her not like him. Apparently, Ashley's romance was cut off before it even began because of something he said, and I thought he said worse things to Liara.
Ashley got Virmired anyway, so she wasn't going to be a problem. I think Liara might have just replaced her as my second least favorite squadmate (with the first being Morinth). No character has ever made me replay a game before. >_>;

ME2 is a lot better about this, it's a lot harder to accidentally get into romances. It's not perfect, I somehow got into the Jack romance after literally saying "no" but I was at least able to get out of the romance easily anyway.
On the playthrough I imported to ME2, I ended up just not talking to Liara or Ashley. There's something weird going on when you get into a romance after saying no or just being nice.
