I can see Garrus as acting "extra turian-like" to try and impress his hard-to-please father when younger...trying to follow the rules to the letter, and all that.

I certainly see that too, also him getting into trouble and worrying about what his father with think if he gets disciplined - ie dropping a citizenship tier or something equally serious.

Yup, seems to me that he's been carrying the pole around with him for a while. Nothing worse for a Turian than 'son, I am disappoint...' I am sure. Nice character dev in that, growing up and forging his own path against strict cultural obligations.

But, and OT, I still can't see Turians as cat-like. I've tried, but I still see them as a hybrid of raptors and birds. The sort of thing that could have evolved on Earth if the dinosaur population didn't get pommelled by an asteroid or two. Perhaps that is just me o_O

I think it's because of the :3 face he makes sometimes.

It's vaguely feline.

Dragon like tendencies... plus at times I wonder what it'd feel like to have fluttery cheek flaps. Why did we start calling them mandibles? Closest Terran equivalent?

The only cat thing I see is the way their upper mouth looks.

Anybody else see that?

Also, the teeth of a cat are very sharp as well.

It's the upper mouth and the tiny nose.

And the mandibles fluttering like whiskers help, too.

Yeah, the flat nose.

And I never thought of the whiskers in roughly the same position as the mandibles...intriguing

Wah, so much going on in this thread... And I have to respond on my phone!

I always try to create characters to look like me, but I failed pretty much with my Shep. I'm a mixed kid, and she's too pale. I also hate my nose, so I gave her a nose that I wish I could have :P. My Warden looks a lot more like me. I imported my ME1 Shep and didn't change anything, but her head looks a bit goofy sometimes. I got used to this head however, I'm not going to change it XD.

Also, the movie. I'm really looking forward to it, and that makes me feel lonely... :( Why so much hate? I really can't understand it. Just because earlier game

movies were made of suck doesn't mean this one will suck too. How can you hate something that hasn't even been made, and you haven't even seen it? My mind... it overloads when I read reactions like that.

Garrus being a good/bad turian... interesting question. I would elaborate more if I had my laptop instead of my phone. XD

Cerrydd reminded me of the earlier question about Shepards...I have 3 femsheps for ME1, and I decided to make the last one solely for the purpose of saving herself for Garrus in ME2. That one has short blonde hair and blue eyes. I have blonde hair, but dark green eyes (and my Warden has white hair and looks nothing like me, but very pretty, LOL). I didn't pick blonde hair for Shep because I have it, but rather because my first two Shepards have black hair (Liryl, Infiltrator, Kaidan romance/Garrus romance) and red hair (Aelita, Vanguard, Liara romance/Thane romance). Just wanted something different for Meche. :)

Hahah, my Grey Wardens. There's a story.

My City Elf (Phelyx) has red hair/green eyes and the cheek tats (Al's squeeze.) I think she's in my DAO profile here on the site. She looks NOTHING like me XD Then again, that's probably a good thing. But she's got my favorite elf look (and does anyone else think Soris is pretty cute, or am I alone in this? Oo)

My Human Mage (Caye... yes, I reuse names... a lot) has white hair, dark brown/black eyes and the eyes tat. (She's slept with everyone she can in camp. You try not going buck wild after being cooped up in a frakin' tower all your life!) Again, nothing like me. But she's pretty. XD (Man she made some goofy lookin' faces with Leliana though XD)

Movie: I have no hate... just... trepidation.

If there's a Garrus in it, I want Keener there. He's the voice! Can't change that now.

Cerrydd are you telling us that you share some features with Crapface? Posted Image

Like my mother would say..... I'm sure he has a lovely nature.Posted Image

I picked features for my Sheps that made them way prettier than me, so even though bits are me, they are both better looking.

Hahahaha Bug, no, Crapface looks nothing like me. Let me correct myself: I always make my main characters to look like me :P.

Soris was very cute. I thought he was going to be my husband. Oops, incest... :P

I'm playing DA right now. OMG SO MUCH SMOOTHER ON THE XBOX THAN ON MY CRAPPY LAPTOP. But it doesn't have Garrus... :(

I would hope Crapface doesn't look like ANYbody IRL! LOL

And I'm all the way up to Level 3 in DA, woohoo. FEAR ME DARKSPAWN!! XD And Alistair is following me around like my dog used to. XD

(Garrus, don't be jealous...his hair is really kinda goofy. :P )

@Cerrrydd well thats a relief! I wasn't going to say anything but geez Crapface is ugly, but as I'll say again and again, I'm sure he's a very nice person, and really thats what counts.

I have DA, but haven't got into the gameplay, I bought it after ME2 not sure why it's not grabbing me, its very pretty to look at!

Maybe I just can't get over my Garrus obsession.

I haven't finished Overlord yet either, too busy writing my fan fic - up to 10,000 words now eeek. I can't believe I'm researching Greco-Roman wrestling.......

As a male player of primarily FemShep, I can say with certainty that my Shepards do not look anything like me. Given that I might go in for a new gaming PC to engage with the modded s/s romance arcs, I might end up never having one that looks like me. Yes, Hale's VA work is sufficiently better, IMO, to justify accelerating the purchase of a ~$4K gaming rig (I can't half-ass computer hardware, and luckily don't have to) instead of "try a male Shepard".

Guess I'm just weird. Or, quite possibly, have played a zillion sci-fi titles in which Generic Male Space Marine #24 saves the world, and there's something refreshingly modern about a female front-line Marine commander.

EDIT: And while everyone's talking about it, add me to the "I just can't get into Dragon Age' list. Maybe it's just that I've played that story at a tabletop too many damn times (saw the chatter about LARP earlier, my local scene is terrible but my bookshelf groans under the weight of WoD & L5R books), maybe it's that it's set in the Kingdom of GreyAndBrown, maybe it's the voiceless main character I don't feel anything for, maybe it's the hand-holding of squadmates to save them from the lemming-like AI. Hard to say.

I've had a hard time getting into DA too, Buggirl. My friend at work feels the same way...we're not sure why. I think the more characters I meet, the more immersive it'll probably get. But as Cerrydd pointed out, there is no Garrus, which makes it harder. :(

@kglaser: YES!! I hate Alistair's hair. WAY too modern. I also hate his voice. But the romance is so cute... yet I wish I could romance Bann Teagan or Sten XD.

I'm happy we don't have to worry about hair with Garrus. His fringe looks good. :D

My partner warned me against even buying DA after witnessing how nuts I went about ME2, he kept telling me it wasn't going to be the same, it was made before ME2 etc etc..... and he was right.

@Ape - its nice to hear you like playing Femshep, I've also played so many games where you're that generic guy that when ME came along it really captured my attention.

I was considering buying Red Dead Redemption but one of the game reviewers here (female) mentioned how she was dissapointed she couldn't play as a chick, I know I'd feel let down now too.

I'm getting back in DA. But I think one problem with it is that it's less accessible than ME and it takes more effort and tedium to replay it.

The worst parts for me are the slog leading up to Redcliffe and the entire misadventure in the Deep Roads.
Other than that it went by at a nice pace.
