My partner warned me against even buying DA after witnessing how nuts I went about ME2, he kept telling me it wasn't going to be the same, it was made before ME2 etc etc..... and he was right.

@Ape - its nice to hear you like playing Femshep, I've also played so many games where you're that generic guy that when ME came along it really captured my attention.

I was considering buying Red Dead Redemption but one of the game reviewers here (female) mentioned how she was dissapointed she couldn't play as a chick, I know I'd feel let down now too.

:pinched:
Awwwwww, now I'm depressed. I love Girl Gunslinger stories. I mean, I've got plenty of games in which the central character is inescapably male, so I might still get it to try it, but for some reason I find female protagonist really rocks up western stories.

I loves me a strong female character.
It helps break the "guys world" steryotype that some still hold about games.

I still might get it, there is an online feature where you can play as female, but thats not the same as full blown story, and from the pictures I've seen of the female choices for online matches - have you seen Calamity Jane in Deadwood? Seriously thats what I thought they looked like, I liked her character but I don't know if I could play one where all I could envisage coming out of her mouth every second word was ****sucker. I'd much rather be Clint Eastwood in the Good the Bad and the Ugly.

@bandfred, I love dancin' Garrus.

I'm getting back in DA. But I think one problem with it is that it's less accessible than ME and it takes more effort and tedium to replay it.

The worst parts for me are the slog leading up to Redcliffe and the entire misadventure in the Deep Roads.
Other than that it went by at a nice pace.

Yea, you nailed it. Before the player goes to Lothering, everything seems to move at a snails pace. And the Deep Roads segment is painfully long.

I got into ME from DA:O.  I loved DA - leather and swordplay bohyeah!  But ME hooked me and now poor Alistair sits gathering dust on my desk. It didn't help that DA:A was disappointing to me -  I'll get back to it at some stage. ME had me at "Hello, I'm Garrus Vakarian..."
But I am looking forward to Fallout New Vegas. Oh and Garrus:wub:

Other than those two times beheading Darkspawn is a nice way to kill time.

Someone did a comic that I think you guys would like.

*Garrus is just standing there*
*Someone yells DARKSPAWN! while Garrus says what the f*ck----he gets tackled by Femshep in armor with swords*
*ME FemShep then says WHO THE F*CK TOUCHED THE TIME MACHINE!*
*Mordin and Tali both blame the other*

Awwww, I like Al's voice. It's so adorably snarky. /sniffle

Gah, 2am, I should be in bed. X.X

I don't mind Dragon Age all that much, but my brain is def geared into ME atm.

I do miss playing DnD... sorta. But then it'd cut into my ME time... and that won't due.

It's 5 months since the damn game came out. E gads, I'm hooked. -.-

It's going to be REALLY hard when ME3 tid bits start showing up... because I kind of want to be surprised, like I was with ME2. But considering how obsessed I am with this freakin' universe, I'm not sure that's going to be possible. o.o

Erm... yea. Tired. Destroy the universe later.

No because I"m Darth Cheesecake and that statement had too much win for Dark Helmet to handle.

Alright.
I've got a Renegade FemShep ME2 run to do so see ya Garrus thread.

Also before I go Has anyone else beat ME2 on insanity without being killed in combat?
Because I feel lonely in that aspect.
Edit: I ony do Renegade with a FemShep.
Because Bastila does evil better than Meer.

Meer is usually at his best with the renegade lines. Sometimes his paragon or neutral lines make him seem like an unfeeling robot. Hale is definitely the better voice actor. I still prefer Meer though.

To be fair it only happened once.
And it was my first Insanity run.
So it was probably dumb luck.
It was also my only insanity run.

Yay, another turian foot-admirer! :wizard:

I love this group and this thread, get to "hop" back in and find something I'm studying! Yay!

Hiking around in ME1 and noticed this:

This is really exciting to get to see his feet like this; I had fun running around and then turning to take the pics really quickly before the wind filled them with sand.

** MY Shepards: one is forever Garrus despite previous romance with Kaidan. I imagined her as a mixture of Japanese and Mexican, as hopefully the future continues to have more races mixing. I don't know how successful her appearance is, but she is my main Shepard, so... New Shepard, for Kaidan, to minimize confusion and distraction by G: I modeled her after Cate Blanchett with short hair, which took a long time; I like the result, although the short wavy hair BW provides looks like a pixelated head of lettuce. I am roleplaying with this one too: she had the Alliance keep Nirali Bhatia's body (her background is Spacer so she is one who adheres to regs- until she finds Kahoku dead from rogue Alliance black ops group our friends Cerberus!)- that made me so sad to keep her body from him.

Since I am unable to get a decent profile shot of my Shepards, I just settled with Sheploo.

Hmmmm Renegade FemShep and Garrus going after people.

Honestly the most intimidating concept I could possibly think of.
