Kasumi has comments on all your relationship options. She even comments about you and Kelly when you take her to dinner.

AND, I'll have to go and download Kasumi too!

Andandand, does she say anything if you're hitting on Garrus & someone else?

What does she say about Kelly? Does Kelly count as a romance? It's more like a one-night stand, isn't it? LOL

Hey guys. I'm back looking for more opinions on Turian culture (since we don't have much in the way of actual knowledge, I'm happy to go with the fan consensus)..

Hugging/Embracing? Handshaking? Do they do either, do you think? (obviously, each at their appropriate time, not specifically at the same time, haha)

She doesn't say anything about hitting on two LIs at the same time.

As for what she says about Kelly:

"So, you and Kelly, huh?  Sounds like you two had a nice date.  I thought she was coming on to me at first.  But maybe she was just being friendly to the new girl."

All that armor and bitterness. D'awwwwww. /gives him a hug

Yea... I can't break off things with Garrus, even for science.

And honestly... I think this might be one of those... ingrained cultural things (getting back to the seppuku'd turian.)

I think his honor is considered clear (and that of his superior's too, since that was on the line as well) and while it may not be a "ritualistic" thing as we know, it has heavy, heavy implications in their day to day lives.

Humans, they ain't! XD

I believe she only comments on the romance you "locked" in.

She comments when you're locked in the romance (which should be after you've done the "reach and flexibility" part or the conversation after that), she comments after the romance scene (the one before the Omega 4 relay), and she comments if you break up with your LI. I heard there's a glitch where if you romance Jacob Kasumi just acts like you broke up with him LOL

Considering their hands are natural weapons (talons are sharp, mmmmkay) I'm not so sure about the hand shaking.  Hugs/embracing may be something that's researved for very close friends and family, I would think.  If a headbump is affection, to me, it shows trust.  This person is taking up your field of vision, is in your personal space (if they have those types of issues) and has the capability of hampering any defensive or offensive moves you want to make.

I kind of think knuckle rapping, like stricking their knuckles on their foreheads or chest is probably a quick gesture of affection.

Then again, we're not all that sure whether touch is an essential to turian development.  I know I've read somewhere that humans are pretty dependent on it.

Garrus' romance is locked in after the "closer to home" conversation.

Jacob's romance is locked in after that one conversation where Shepard kisses him on the cheek and says "You know what, Jacob? I think we need each other..."

I think Thane's romance is locked in after the "I'm there for you whenever you need me" conversation.

And yes, I played through all three. FOR SCIENCE! /mordingrin

Yeah, it's all supposition, of course. But without any official word from the BW Loremasters, I'm good with whatever we decide.

The turian scaling extends to their hands, correct?

Looks like it does. Hard to tell with the art, but it looks like their talons/hands have if not minimal plating, than at least some heavy skin/hide there.

Handshaking?

I believe handshaking evolved from use of weapons (ie. if I am shaking your hand I cannot draw my sword). Don't think this would apply to Turians. I think a predatorial race would be more respective of personal space - everyone at claws length unless there is absolute trust.
I like Steph's idea of salute to chest (very Centurion) and kind of fits the whole Roman theme. Hey, why not a brofist - that would be awesome!!!  B)

Hehe. I'm not sure about the brofist, but I quite like the idea of a Narn-style chest salute.

Okay, maybe not a brofist (damnit!) lol but narn-style chest salute would definitely be in keeping with the culture from what we have seen so far.

Since I am a relative noobie to Bioware forums - is there no one from Bioware who can answer these questions? Do the writers/creators not have a forum for asking such things? Or do we just have to wait...? Seems strange to have forums and not support them with that info IMHO.

I also wish they would release a "Complete Guide to the Mass Effect Universe" - artwork, full details on races, history, biology etc., with a concise level of detail. /sigh

Sorry, went into rant-mode there...

I always imagined the Turians doing a slight head bow out of respect, almost like nodding (except only doing it once instead of repeatedly).

On the old Mass Effect forums, the developers and writers posted much more frequently. Isn't the case on social.bioware.com Mass Effect forums. I understand that on the Dragon Age forums, developers and writers still post a decent amount, including David Gaider.

@lem The total Wassup head nod? I like it. but I think that would be an informal greeting. Formal, I still go with narn-style salute - military all the way.

@Coll DG posts there? That is fantastic. I really enjoyed his books. I wonder why we miss out with ME...perhaps we should ask? That is pretty poor from a marketing perspective, if nothing else.

I think I would like to hang out more on the Tali thread more but it's kind of hard to keep up with those Tali fans. This thread moves more at a speed more comfortable for me.

Now I will totally agree with that!

OMG - I have FAR TOO MUCH to catch up on for this thread, but I've been back peddling through the last couple of pages and Garrus choloforming Shep to steal her dress might be the best thing I've seen this week! XD

Also, the top of the page comic is win.

OK, so I'm going to be a bit of a drop in for the next while in all likelyhood. Someone tell me: what have I missed. and is Xsauce still collecting internets? :P
