I'm replaying Dragon Age right now. It's amazing how much different party members can make the experience feel new again. I love Alistair, but I've always been having him in my party so I decided change some of the party members. Strange though - in Mass Effect I'm quite content to just use my favorites all of the time - Garrus among them of course. Then again, I feel more attached to Mass Effect squad more than the Dragon Age team. Dragon Age did really well with the banter though, I really like it.

The party banter MAKES Dragin Age. I Image IPB that game. (I've managed to turn 2 of my work colleagues who are pretty much FPS and fighting gamers onto it, and they are lovin' the RPGz now! lol) I agree that the characters in Mass Effect are more interesting, but we don't get nearly a good enough sense of who they are outside of their LM stuff. The rare bits of banter we do get are gold! More, please.

I'm on my seconf DA PT and once again I can't help but have Ali in my party, but I'm matching him with different people so the experience is still fresh. Also, the harden/unharden option does make some of the cutscene interaction different, which is good.

I know I've said this before, but I would LOVE it if Garrus had different dialogue options or ways of reacting based on the choices he made in ME1 and 2 (different personality reflected, like Leliana and Alistair in DA, but to a stronger degree).

Anybody played the Darkspwan Chrionicles? Great fun, but bits of it made me Image IPB. lol Wouldn't it be fun to see the SM from a Collector's POV? Image IPB

I haven't played through DA:O. Only played it for an hour at a friends' place, who happened to have it on her xbox. It's fun, and I started off with a human noble and got up to getting to ostagar.

I might get DA:O... eventually (although I have seen the vids for some scenes)

A lot of party can be so serious or negative sometimes.
Sten: :l
Shale: :l

I love Sten and Shale (and Oghren too). Sten is by far my favourite companion in DA:O. But I'm his only fan hahaha.

Oh, and Garrus. I really want party banter in ME3... it would be nice to hear the others talk, instead of Shepard always taking the effort to get people to talk.

OMFG. I'm not sure if I could resist watching so many Garruses at the same time. LOL.

I was about to say how awesome it was the thread went closer to Minsc and his boo, but it looks like lotta stuff happens when one's out! Seriously, if Tali's thread is waaay more active, I'm scared to take it a look.

But hey, activity rules. It's better than any other option!

@Cerr Definately, it would be great to have them talking to you instead of having to go after them, as if they had no interest in you, lol.

Oh hai. Working for most of the day, then back to archiving! ^.^

Gotta figure out a better way to format it though... /ponders

Ahhhh CDN, you deliver. More news from the war front:

CDN sez...

Tonight: Is the colonialist strategy on Taetrus working? The killing of civilians in Earth wars usually serves only to stiffen popular resistance, but Earth wars rarely offer such a stark contrast between safe captivity and death. “The dual approach is necessary,” says Lieutenant Colonel Satorim of the 3rd Infantry. “Without the camps, no one would ever surrender. Without the hastatim, we would be here for years and still get shot at.” Some surrendering citizens have even collaborated with their captors. “Our most valuable intel comes from sympathizers,” says Satorim. “After seeing the Vallum Blast, they know what the separatists want and think it abhorrent. They’d rather be counted as patriots.”

Finding this parallel with the war in the Middle East IRL ... interesting.

Does Garrus say anything when you go check on Liara (after she was your LI in ME1)?

I somehow (I must have thought it would have been better RP-wise to bring someone else, but I can't believe I thought that!) forgot taking him the last time I went, and... Well, I'm not sure I've got a save near that point! (/me goes to check it)

EDIT: NOPE, ****. I've got a save right AFTER that. But hey, I was there with Miranda AND Garrus, so I guess he didn't say a word.

Nope, they don't acknowlege each other.

A grave oversight. But then, she doesn't acknowledge Tali, either, and Tali was a required teammate.

Thought I would throw in a little Memory Lane this morning with some Camo Vakarian. I hope I am doing this right.  Both are on Noveria.

DA:O type banter in ME would be all kinds of awesome...Unfortunately, the folks at BW have been heard to say that they'll be implementing the Awakening-type of dialogue in DA2. Apparently, they think the DA:O dialogue mechanics are "broken".

That doesn't bode well for DA, so if they're going that way, I don't think I'd want ME to take example on it.

As for Saren, I've always made him kill himself, on all 4 of my playthroughs. Dunno, it seemed like he was going out with a tiny shred of honour that way. And it certainly takes on more meaning when you put it in perspective with turian honour suicide.

As for pink, I remember several turians with pink tats, so I don't think it's a feminine colour to them.

@ Collider: It's weird to me that you put Shale and Oghren in the same category as Sten and Morrigan. Sten's humorous moments are few and far between (cookies! and the fact that he likes kittens, but that's about it), and while Morrigan does have some wonderfully snarky lines, Shale and Oghren both seemed a lot less serious to me. They both kept making me chuckle, especially Shale Image IPB

@ Buggirl: Garrus overload! I didn't like that film, so the poster is extra disturbing to me Image IPB

@ Cerryydd: Awww, purrito! But now I'll definitely associate ME1 Garrus with that D:

That's interesting about the pink... and I always thought blue would be considered the strong turian color, probably because they wear blue at C-Sec.

"Being Garrus Vakarian." One of the few movie references here I understand. That's brilliant. xD So, does that mean there's a portal somewhere that the Collectors use to "assume direct control" of Garrus Vakarian? And if Garrus enters the portal, he'll see a room full of people with his face who can only say "Vakarian"... with one of them wearing a dress and singing "Vakarian" on top of a piano? Poor Garrus.
