Is that worse than a cat with a toilet seat around its neck?

Wow, we're really going off topic with this Dragon Age nonsense.
Has anyone noticed this trend? All Garrus fans like Tali and all Tali fans like Garrus.
I sense a romance fiction....

I really like Tali, but I can't EVER see that romance happening.
(But thank you for steering the thread away from DA and back to ME.  I don't even read those posts because I don't know what anyone's talking about, LOL!) ;)

eta:  Love to, Janey!  But it's a little early here...if you are still upright in 2 hours I will join you :P
is vodka ok? :wizard:

Remember that scene on the Citadel?

Garrus: Do you ever miss those talks we had on the elevators?

Tali: No.

Garrus: C'mon, remember how we'd all ask you about life on the Flotilla? It was an opurtunity to share.

Tali: This coversation is over.

Garrus: Tell me again about your immune system.

Tali: I have a shotgun.

Garrus: Maybe we'll talk later...

Can you not admit that Garrus is so flirting? Besides, all those confrontations on the elevators in ME1. Oppisites attract.

I'm indifferent to Tali. No dislike. Don't mind her. Romanced her once with a male Shep, and it was cute.

The Awakening dialogue system wouldn't bother me if it was woven in with regular conversation. Not being able to turn to your companions and speak just sucks. It's unnatural. IMO. =)

@janey, later in the day I'll have a pina colada in your name. I buy that cheap mix from the grocery store.

I so hate that conversation. If I had heard that, I would have killed them both. Period.

How can Garrus be such a liar when she said to Shep **** about being too complicated when you put other species on it and then go after Tali?!

Geeez.

/me is always half-kidding

EDIT: @RPGmom, you're just right. I miss a lot talking with them at any time, and I hope they bring that back in ME3. Why did they take it out in the first place?

His tone of voice melted the ends off my shoelaces in that scene. <3

That's not flirting at all. The only thing that makes it sounds flirty is his voice, but his voice is always like that. Blame BK.

Garrus isn't flirting.

Garrus just has a shotgun fetish.

...I just creeped myself out. :crying:

EDIT: Yeah, it's just teasing.

I didn't hear it as flirting so much as teasing.

Agreed. That's my brother annoying the hell out of me, and we'll laugh about it later.

GarrusxTali feels very wrong to me.

Yes it is. Thankfully, very few people see them that way.

-

Anyways - I was wondering. A little while ago we were discussing Garrus' thoughts on Thane's personality. For those who have not yet answered, what do you think Garrus would feel about Thane's philosophy of the soul being separate & irresponsible from the body (in regards to killing)?

But I also wonder about characters like Samara. How do you think Garrus would feel about Samara's Justicar code?

I can see Garrus and Tali being the type of friends that like to tease each other a lot, and still care about each other's well-being... but that's it. I don't understand the whole "opposites attract" thing either. My Shepards like people who are like them. xD If someone is too different from them, then they won't get along at all. (And I mean differences in personality or opinion, not things like skill. My MaleShep who likes Tali is a Vanguard with no tech knowledge whatsoever.)

I didn't answer the question about Garrus and Thane before, but I don't really have anything else to add. I agree with everyone who said that Garrus respects Thane and his skill, but wouldn't agree with his philosophy. I'm not so sure how he'd feel about Samara's code. Even though he says he has trouble with gray, I think her code is probably a little too black and white for him, if that makes sense. Besides, the code seems like it has a rule for everything, and they're not allowed to break any of those rules... Garrus doesn't care much for rules.

Nah, that's teasing, and Tali really doesn't sound amused by it either. As for the ME1 elevator convos, some of the early ones were Garrus being downright insensitive. Definitely not flirty teasing.

I totally understand opposites attract: I've actually broken up with people before because we were too alike. But it doesn't mean that opposites always attract. And Tali and Garrus don't exactly strike me as opposites either. They're similar in a few ways: deadpan sense of humour, somewhat isolated among their own species, strong sense of what's right and wrong, not afraid to speak their minds. Definitely not a case of opposites.

Besides, remember that Garrus has never considered cross-species intercourse before Shep asked him? That rules Tali right out.

As for what Garrus would think of Samara: considering that he doesn't like rules for the sake of rules, and that Samara's life philosophy is entirely based on that, I think he'd keep a respectful distance from her. He wouldn't try to get in her "hair" about it, but he wouldn't be able to adhere to that kind of philosophy either, even less than with Thane.

I'll have to believe you guys, even if somehow I feel he wouldn't tease her if he wasn't attracted by her at all.

GarrusxTali would feel terribly wrong.

Oops, that post came a bit late because of my slowy slow internet. :(

It would be nice to have an elevator talk between Samara/Thane and Garrus to find out what do they think about each other. Do they even talk anytime?

Garrus responds to Thane if you bring them both to the Citadel. Thane comments about fatal security flaws at C-Sec and says he's surprised that more have appeared over the years. He'd expect something like C-Sec to be more secure. And Garrus says he's spent too much time with C-Sec to believe that's true. But besides him commenting on Thane's marksmanship during his recruitment, I believe that's the only time the two ever interact. And he doesn't interact with Samara at all, IIRC.

I'd like to hear him and Samara talking. What about Legion? I can't remember.

And by the way... Does any of you know about the serrated blade some Turian is trying to carry with himself in a ship?

Garrus disapproves of rescuing Legion from the Derelict Reaper. I don't think they ever interact in conversation. Heck, Garrus responding to Thane is a rarity: squaddies don't tend to react to each other in ME2.
